Boiron Pharmacist Offers Tips for Treating Common Summer Ailments

by boiron on June 11th, 2012

If you live in the Los Angeles area, tune in tomorrow to “Here’s To Your Health” on LA Talk Live! to catch Boiron pharmacist Raphaele Cohen-Bacry’s interview with host and nutritionist Josh Lane. As warm weather hits, and most of us head outdoors for some fun in the sun, Raphaele and Josh will discuss natural treatments for common summer skin irritations.

Garden marigold

Whether the problem is sunburn, a first degree burn from a backyard barbecue, blisters from new summer sandals, or your child’s cut and scraped knee, Raphaele recommends Calendula. Calendula is one of the most versatile, frequently needed and economical items in a natural products store. Made from the Garden marigold, Calendula helps to relieve a wide variety of skin irritations. Calendula is undetectable to others; it’s clear and has no medicinal smell. It’s also free of artificial colors and perfumes. Look for Calendula in different forms such as an ointment, which makes a great naturally shinny lip balm, or a lotion that spreads easily to soothe faces or legs after shaving. Raphaele will also suggest medicines for seasickness, trauma and travel, so be sure to tune in!

With more than 35 years of nutritional consulting experience, Josh is the owner of the Vitamin Center of Agoura Hills in California, and has published several health and nutrition articles. “Here’s To Your Health” airs every Tuesday at 12 p.m. PST on LA Talk Live!
