Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a long title for a movie. But given how many superheroes are definitely or probably showing up in the 2016 superhero film, a more accurate title would probably be Batman v Superman v Wonder Woman v Cyborg v an Aquaman cameo v The Flash probably. Warner Bros. has not been shy about promoting their incipient DC Cinematic Universe, and so at this point we should not be surprised by any rumors about a new beloved DC icon joining the film.

Nevertheless, this local news report about the Batman v Superman film shoot does come with an interesting wrinkle. POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT SORT OF: WILX-10 spoke to someone claiming to be an extra in the movie, and this “extra”—who spoke only under the condition of anonymity and a 60 Minutes-worthy shadow-voice monologue—says that the character Robin will be in the movie. And this Robin will be a woman, possibly-definitely played by Jena Malone, an incipient action star in her own right thanks to her role as Johanna Mason in the Hunger Games franchise.

Warner Bros. had no comment on the report, nor on the possibility floated by the anonymous extra that the studio could sue him for $5 million for releasing this information. It’s worth pointing out that, when Zack Snyder first introduced Batman v Superman at Comic-Con 2013, he specifically referenced The Dark Knight Returns, a comic book featuring a red-haired female Robin named Carrie Kelley. It is also worth mentioning that Jena Malone has lately decided to dye her hair red. And so we conclude a week overstuffed with earth-shattering superhero movie news with the unconfirmed possibility that someone named Robin will be in the next Batman movie.
