Children’s Cough, Cold & Flu Meds Featured on Boston Morning News

by boiron on March 21st, 2011

If you live in the Boston area, you might have been lucky enough to catch the Fox 25 Morning News’ recent segment on kids and fevers with Dr. Gary Kracoff. A new American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) report suggests that parents should focus on their children’s behavior, instead of the number on the thermometer, as a guide for whether or not to give fever-reducing medications. After acknowledging the report, Dr. Kracoff, a registered pharmacist with Johnson Compounding & Wellness Center in Waltham, Mass., offered several natural ways for parents to help their children work through an illness, including our cough, cold and flu medicines, Children’s Oscillococcinum, Coldcalm and Chestal, and Belladonna oral pellets, a single homeopathic medicine that relieves a high fever of sudden onset with perspiration.

Our medicines work safely and naturally without causing drowsiness or sleeplessness. There’s no risk of overdose, and they won’t interact with other medications. Children’s Oscillo works best when taken at the first sign of flu-like symptoms, Children’s Chestal relieves all types of common coughs, and Children’s Coldcalm offers multi-symptom cold relief. Oscillo and Chestal can be safely taken by children ages 2 and up; Coldcalm is meant for children ages 3 and up.

Fox 25 Morning News” airs weekday mornings at 4:30 a.m. on WFXT-TV (FOX) Ch 25. To view Dr. Kracoff’s segment, click here.
