Hollywood Makeup Artist Says Arnica & Calendula “Work Like a Charm”

by boiron on July 13th, 2012

As a makeup artist, Emily Katz sees herself as a “skincare aficionado.” She “encourage[s] actresses/actors to investigate skincare that works for them,” so when she’s ready to apply their makeup, she can “start with the best canvas possible.” And even though Katz has access to countless designer skincare lines, in a recent interview with “Beauty Blogging Junkie,” she says that she always comes back to a “trailer staple: Boiron homeopathic Arnica and Calendula creams. For bumps and bruises—Arnica [and] for burns and the like—Calendula.” Katz says she appreciates that these products are “totally natural,” and that they “work like a charm.” To view the rest of Katz’s interview with “Beauty Blogging Junkie” (and catch a few makeup tips), click here.

Arnica topicals, also available in gel and ointment, help to reduce swelling and discoloration caused by bruising, while Calendula topicals, including lotion and ointment,  help heal common skin irritations. Both Arnicare Cream and Calendula Cream are recommended for use on sensitive skin, especially the face. These creams do not have a scent and are paraben-free.

About Emily Katz: Katz is the makeup artist on the set of Charlie Sheen’s new sitcom, “Anger Management,” also starring Selma Blair and Shawnee Smith. The show airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on FX. Previously, Emily was the makeup department head for “The Nine Lives of Chloe King” and the makeup supervisor for “Lost.”
