Five More Tips for Using Arnicare & Calendula Effectively

by boiron on June 4th, 2010

Here’s five more ways to use Boiron’s Arnicare and Calendula topicals. Have you discovered any other applicable uses that aren’t mentioned here? Feel free to share your comments!

1. Dry Skin

Our skin can be exposed more to the elements during warm weather than during cold. Rub Calendula Cream into cracked heels caused by open shoes, and apply Calendula Ointment to chapped lips dried out from the sun, convertible rides and chlorinated pools.

2. Insect Bites

Insect bites are hard to avoid in warmer temps, unless you hide indoors. Calendula Gel can provide cool and soothing relief from stinging skin irritations.

3. Sore Muscles

Seasonal gardening and home improvement projects will give hibernating muscles quite a workout. Arnicare Cream is particularly good for massaging into sore muscles after completing those first few sunny-weather chores.

4. Minor Cuts

Most kids can’t seem to get through the day without a cut or scraped knee. This is true during summer days as well as on the playground when school is in session. Both kids and accident-prone adults will appreciate non-stinging Calendula Cream.

5. Falls

So here’s a tough question: Should Arnicare or Calendula be applied after a bike or rollerblading spill that has caused both bruising and cuts? The answer: Use both Arnicare Gel and Calendula Ointment, but in two very specific ways! While treating conditions under the skin, such as bruises, sore muscles or stiffness, avoid applying Arnicare to any broken skin. The non-greasy gel formula penetrates quickly into the skin to provide relief and can be used along with ice in case of trauma. Use Calendula only on cuts, scrapes and other minor skin irritations. The occlusive ointment stays on the skin longer and is ideal for minor wounds that take longer to heal.
