New children’s channel Pop launches on Freeview

Pop is a high-energy children’s channel for 4-9-year-old girls and boys, and is the first channel to be added to the Freeview children’s portfolio in eight years.

Featuring a diverse mix of shows, the channel is now accessible to an additional 12.4m households.

Freeview channel 75 will be a key destination from 06:00 to 22:00 for cartoons, ‘how-to’ facts and science shows. Kicking off the April half term holiday (5th-21st April, 2014), Pop will feature mini blocks of Littlest Pet Shop, Finding Stuff Out, Sally Bollywood and My Little Pony.

In addition there is, an interactive website which lets children play with their favourite show characters and take part in a range of activities including games and avatar creations, in an entertaining and safe environment.

The CSC Media Group (the founder of Pop) will be incorporating and TV apps, so they can play games online or on mobile devices and see their avatar and high score appear on TV.

Pop will become the UK’s fourth national kids TV network delivering a quality and fun alternative for kids and families in Freeview homes. Pop will entertain and educate UK kids and pre-schoolers with top cartoons and facts, featured in a brand new line up of UK premieres including new cartoons, Grojband, and super science shows, Finding Stuff Out.”

Pop is also available free-to-air on Sky Digital channel 616 and Freesat channel 603.
