Katja Windt elected President of Jacobs University

At its meeting on February 10, Jacobs University’s Board of Governors has unanimously elected Katja Windt as the President of Jacobs University. Since the beginning of 2014 Prof. Dr.Ing. Windt has already served as Acting President of the institution.

 

Karin Lochte, Chair of the Board of Governors, is happy about the vote: “Katja Windt is firmly anchored in the university, has a high standing in the science community and an excellent network outside of the university.”

 

For Dr. Joh. Christian Jacobs, Chairman of the Jacobs Foundation, Katja Windt is the ideal appointment: “She represents both continuity and a new start”, he said. “This is of great value at this particular time and in this phase which is so important for securing the unique Jacobs University.”
