Walkthrough: Chapter 2, Part One: After the Cult!

== Chapter 1 Chapter 2.1 Chapter 2.2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4The second part of the story picks up where the last one left off. Now you are to the north of Neverwinter and charged with finding the cult. You are asked to find two positive leads as to their location, although their are more to be found.

The optional quests continue here with henchman quests, romance quests and others. I have listed them at the bottom of the chapter walkthrough. I have included only the first half of the chapter here - all events taking place in Luskan is covered in the next section of the guide! This was done for organizational reasons only (as well as the fact that Luskan is a completely different module!).

Port Llast  You begin play in Kendrack's Barracks in the city of Port Llast. There you have to talk to Aribeth and Aarin, as well as pick up a favorite companion. Visit the local shops and pick up a plethora of optional quests. The way I am going to cover the main quests for this chapter is an easy one - I will pick one and stick with it until it is done before going to another one. It is possible that you might get portions of other quests done at the same time, but I will split these steps between their respective quests. The Search For the Cult: Solomon This little quest begins a three quest cycle towards getting a required piece of evidence. Go to the Alliance Arm Inn (this event will also trigger in the Green Griffon Inn) and talk to Solomon there. He gives you a ring and then disappears. Return to the inn later to have him appear again. This time he threatens your life before disappearing.

Go to the north road and walk north along the road. Soon enough you will encounter Solomon along with a pair of cronies. Fighting a trio of rogues is not easy - try to keep their sneak attacks to a minimum! After you kill them you will get the Letter to Solomon, which finishes this quest. The Search For the Cult: Poor Neva  After dealing with Solomon return to either the Alliance Arms Inn or the Green Griffon Inn. Depending on your sex, either Tarran or Jaheel will come down the stairs to talk to you. They say that their brother has been kidnapped and bids you come with them to the entrance to the Charwood.

Go south from Port Llast to the South Road area (map below). Go straight east to enter the Farmlands area. The Standing Stones are in the southeastern corner. Go there to find Neva, and his two older 'siblings'. The three of them are in fact agents of the cult and they attack you on sight. They are not that high of level and should basically be cannon fodder for you. Kill them all to get a note that finishes this quest.  The Search For the Cult: Vardoc's Hunt After dealing with Solomon and finishing the Poor Neva quest, you will hear reports of a murderer in either the Alliance Arms Inn or the Green Griffon Inn. You will have to talk to two or three different people on different occasions before you can actually face Vardoc. They are Benlaren, Lerner and Thurwin.

After the encounter with Thurwin head to the North Road. Walk along the road to encounter Vardoc. He will attack you on sight and he is an incredibly strong fighter! Make sure that you come into this battle at full health, or you might have trouble taking him down. Once he is down on the ground you can pick up the Letter to Vardoc. Bring this letter to Aribeth as one of the leads that you need. The quest won't be closed until you have all the leads that you need.

Note: This quest is technically bugged, as you can trigger it at any time after you trigger the Poor Neva quest. The Search For the Cult: Ganon's Journal

You get this quest once you recover Ganon's Journal at the bottom of the Ogre Caves. To get to the Ogre Caves you have to go through the Bugbear Caves. The Bugbear Caves are connected to the Goblin and Orc Caves. And these caves are connected to the North Road area!

From Port Llast go north and through the gate. Be prepared for the first real random encounter areas of the game. I can't really give you hints here, since they just spawn in and are based on your level. In the northwestern corner you will find a trio of caves. Go into the easternmost one to enter the Goblin Caves. On top of lots of goblins and orcs, you will also fight a pair of minotaurs here, as well as an ogre. These beasts aren't that tough and should be no problem for you. There are also a pair of chieftains - kill them to get some nice treasure. Basically, all you want to do is head to the southeast to find some stairs leading to the Bugbear Caves.

The Bugbear Caves are also accessible from the outside. The chieftain is in the room right by where you entered this floor from. Deal with the chieftain, if you want and then go down the eastern steps to find yourself in the Ogre Caves. If you have the Gerrol's Wife quest, you can find his wife, Leah, in the prison. From the chieftain's room go south along the eastern hall and enter the first door you find to get to the prison. From there you can rescue her.

Go down into the Ogre Caves. You will fight only one ogre in these caves, so don't worry about meeting any of the brutes. Just fight your way to the east and then to the south. Go through the door there to encounter the bosses - Ganon and Dergiab. They come into the fight with a bunch of extra warriors, but they aren't the problems here. Watch out for Ganon's sneak attacks and Dergiabs spells. Try to keep one attacker on Dergiab at all times, but don't feel obligated to let Ganon attack your back. Anyways, kill the two and pick up the journal from the chest, and Dergiab's head from his body.

The journal points you towards the Charwood and the Neverwinter Woods. Now you know where to hunt for the leads that you need. This quest won't actually be finished until you get all the necessary leads. The Search For the Cult: Charwood Journal

Head south from Port Llast to find the South Road area. This area is crawling with wildlife and contains a pair of side areas to explore. You can find Bran the werewolf here, Wanev's Tower and a special little side cave. That little cave has nothing to do with any other quest, so I will only make a passing note of it - to get to the final treasure you will have to swim through an underwater passage. Doing so requires a 16 constitution. Now what do you do, if you don't have a 16 in that ability? Well you can always quaff some Endurance Potions or equip an item that raises your constitution.

The Farmlands (map above) are just to the east of the entrance to the South Road. There are a pair of new quests here, as well as one than can be continued. For now, all you want to do is head east and enter the Charwood. The first area of the Charwood is the Haunted Forest. Go north in there to find a bunch of chests guarded by the undead. Grab the Old Scroll and then head to the southeast. Touch the red pillar there and then press the runes in the following order NETHER SHALL RULE. A portal will open to a crypt. Enter the crypt and kill all the undead in it for the extra experience. There is a mummy lord at the far end of the tomb, but he isn't that tough to kill. His coffin holds a Staff of Power!

Leave the crypt and go east to enter Charwood Village. Talk to Quint through the first gates and he will give you a quest (it is detailed below). Go through the second gate and enter the tavern to the east. Talk to the Strange Man there and tell him of current events. He will then attack you. He is an easy opponent to beat and drops the Charwood Cultist's Journal, therefor finishing this portion of the quest. You should now have a second piece of evidence and could return to Aribeth to continue on with Luskan. I will instead detail the quest for the third piece of evidence as well - including all the rest of the optional quests in this chapter. The Search For the Cult: Relmar's Journal

From Port Llast go to the east and enter the East Road area. There are three optional quests to be done in this area, all of which can be obtained from the camp. There are also a lot of optional quest parts to be done in this area, but I will simply refer you to the separate entries below. When on the East Road, head east to enter the Druid Encampment area.

Talk to Aawill to get a pair of quests. He will also allow you to go further into the woods. Cross the eastern bridge and enter the Deep Woods area. You'll want to head east to enter the Heart of the Forest area, but first you should visit the two side areas here - you have to finish at least the first parts of the Spirit of the Woods quest to get access to the Realm of the Spirit area. So refer there on how to get to there. Please return here once you have entered the Realm of the Spirit.

Relmar is just to the west of your starting point in the Realm of the Spirit. Talk to him and resist the urge to kill him until he is finished with his riddles. Grab his journal and then exit the Realm of the Spirit via either the southern portal or by freeing the spirit from its madness.

When you have two leads under your belt, return to Aribeth and give her the journals. You will then be instructed to talk to Aarin. Do so to learn of the plan to enter Luskan. Make sure that all your quests are done, and head north to the North Road. Go north again to enter the Green Griffon Inn area. Go to the north once again to find the gates to Luskan. Talk to the Sergeant to be admitted to the city. Refer to the next section for the continuation of the main walkthrough. ==

Optional Quests
The optional quests here are done a bit differently than in the first chapter. I have included ALL the optional quests here, even those that are normally completed while on the course to finishing the main quests. The henchmen quests here can only be done, if you did them in the first chapter - evident by which of the rewards you still have on you.

Daelan Quest - Find the Axe
Daelan asks you to help find his mother's murderer. He has seen a vision of the man's ask and asks you to help him find that man. Bring him the axe as proof of your success.

The axe can be found while on the Mutamin's Challenge quest. Gorkan, a fighter near the end of the last area, is the one that killed his mother. Kill him and give Daelan the axe to finish the quest. Daelan will reward you by upgrading the item he gave you in the first chapter.

Grimgnaw Quest - Find the Hand
Grimgnaw asks you to retrieve an item that will help his order release the souls of some companions that were cursed with undeath. The Corpse Hand that he requires is in the Arcane Brother's Tomb to the northeast of the Green Griffon Inn. He will power up the Amulet of the Longdeath for you upon receiving the item.

Sharwyn Quest - Find the Hair
Sharwyn tells you the tale of how she lost her lover to a noblewoman. The noblewoman used a glamour to win him over, and Sharwyn wishes to end the spell. For that she needs a Lock of Nymph's Hair. You can find this item in the southeastern corner of the nymph's home in the Deep Woods area of the Neverwinter Woods. She will upgrade your Performer's Belt as reward for helping her.

Boddyknock Quest - Find the Seed
Boddyknock is looking for some rare seeds so that he can win his father's favor back. The seeds he seeks are the Prism Blossom Seeds and they can be found on the first floor of the Creator Ruins in the East Road area. He will power up the ring that he gave you in chapter 1 as a reward.

Linu Quest - Find the Journal
Linu is looking for her late husband's journal. The Journal of Synth La'neral is on the first floor of the Troll Caves in the East Road area. She will power up the pendant she gave you as reward for finding it.

Tomi Quest - Find the Gem
Tomi had some sort of falling out with an old friend of his. They each tried to steal the Star of Calimshan, and his friend, Sammy, beat him to it. He wants it now, and asks you to help him find it. Good thing that Wanev has it! I can't remember where it is in his tower, but it is there! Just keep looking for it... Once you give it to Tomi he powers up your Ring of the Rogue.

Aribeth and Aarin
These two can be found in Kendrack's Barracks in Port Llast. If you are at least ninth level, you can persuade them to talk of themselves. Keep persuading them and soon enough they will give you their life stories. If you are of the opposite sex, they just may well fall for you! If they do, they will give you a charm that may come of use later in the game...

Bounty Hunt
Kendrack asks you to track down five criminals for him. He offers to pay you well for your services. Now it is off to find these varmints!

The first convict can be found on the top floor of the Green Griffon Inn. Unlock his door and he will charge at you. Knock the minotaur down to low health to have him surrender. Accept it and he will attack you again. Weird guy! Kill him for good and he will drop his ear, which you are supposed to return to Kendrack.

The second convict is just as easy to find. Stirge is hiding out in the northwest corner of the Farmlands area. If you try his riddle (solution: candle, wall, goodness) and win you will get an alignment hit. By killing him outright you will get no alignment hit. In either case you will get his ear. Bring the ear to Kendrack for your reward.

The third convict is very easy to find. After talking to Jax in the East Road camp enter the barracks and climb to the top floor. Delilah awaits you in one of the bedrooms. Attack her and don't let her go when she surrenders. Doing so is a bad thing! Take her ear to Kendrack for a small reward.

Wyvern, the fourth convict, can be found just to the northwest of the Druid Encampment. He will try to ambush you, but is really a pushover. Don't let him go and kill him. Pick up his ear and return it to Kendrack.

Upon your arrival a distraught Kendrack approaches you. He tells you the tale of how Yesgar came and kidnapped his daughter! He gives you a key and bids you hurry to the mines. Go north to the North Road area and then to the northwest to find the mines. The mines are loaded with orcs and ogres and, if you have trouble with them now then something is wrong! Head to the northeast and deal with Yesgar. Grab his ear and free Shaldrissa from the prison. Return to Kendrack to finally finish this quest.

Gerrol's Wife and Dergiab's Head
A young man stops you as you exit Kendrack's Barracks for the first time to tell you of his mother. He bids you to go speak to his father. Leave town via the northern gates and talk to him at his farm. He tells you that his wife is gone and tells you that he wants you to kill a beast named Dergiab.

His wife can be found in the Bugbear Caves. Check the Ganon's Journal quest info for the exact location. Dergiab's Head is found on that same quest, so look there for the location. Bring the Head back and you will be rewarded for both quests.

The Serpent's Gems
Talk to Elaith Craulnober in Port Llast's Alliance Arms Inn to get this quest. You might have to persuade him to give it to you though. He needs for you to find three special gems and even gives you the locations of each of them. And he even gives you a key to let you in to the location of the first. How nice of him!

Head to Wanev's place in town. Enter the basement there and deal with the skeletons. Pick up two of their knuckles, as well as the Fire Beetle Belly from the nearby storage room. There is a a slaad tongue in the library. By the stairs to the lab there is a flesh golem. It is immune to non-magical weapons, so make sure that you have some equipped. Kill it and enter the bedroom to fight a gargoyle. Pick up its skull and then go up the stairs. Place the belly, the tongue and the two knuckles in the brazier to open up a portal. Go through the portal to find a pair of chests. Open them to get some nice treasure, as well as the wardstone to Wanev's Tower.

Head to the Green Griffon Inn in the northern part of the North Road. In the common room you will be able to talk to Zamithra. If you are a guy, she will take you to her room if you let her. Once there you will have to fight her while naked - ouch. Otherwise you have to pick her pockets for the key, kill her when she is in the presence of her guards, or wait for her to pick up another guy and then follow her to her room. In any case, all you want is the gem that she has in her room.

With Wanev's Wardstone in hand head to the South Road. Go to the southeast and talk to the troll on the bridge. Go through the front door (or cave entrance) and then go through the teleporter to get to a set of barracks. Walk through the barracks and climb the stairs. Use the teleporter in the next room and get ready to battle Wanev. Fight him as you usually fight mages and he'll give up before the battle is over. He will then give you a quest. Go through the door behind him and prepare to battle mobs of mephits. Search all the chests here - Wanev's Gem is in one of them (I forgot which one). Go along the outer passage and pull the lever when you come to it. Keep going until you come to the pesky imp. Kill him, grab his heart and put it in the brazier at the beginning of this area. Disarm the trap and then return to Wanev for your reward.

The third gem is in the possession of Setara the witch living in the Heart of the Forest area of the Neverwinter Woods. In order to get it from her you have to retrieve a mirror from the nymph's house. Refer to the Spirit of the Woods quest for more information on this process. Once you get the mirror, give it to her to get the gem. Bring it back to Elaith for a nice reward.

The Five Tomes of Imaskar
Eltoora asks you to find 5 rare tombs and will pay you well for their return.

Ch2 tomb.JPG The first of the tombs can be found in the Arcane Brother's Tomb. I have heard many horror stories about this tomb, but I managed to finish it without many problems at level 11. Well the first thing to do is find the place. Go to the northern part of the North Road and go to the northeastern corner to find a cemetery. Go into the little shack to find the caretaker. Buy the key off of him and then enter the tomb.

The tomb is a dreary place filled with the undead. You will fight many skeletal warriors, as well as zombies of all kinds. The lord of this place is a lich. From the entrance head north until you get to a gate. There is a Corpse Hand in a nearby chest. You will need it for another quest. Go through the gate and pick up the Tomb Key from the chest. Backtrack and head west now. Soon enough you will have to open up a pair of gates. Go through them start pulling the enemies from the room to the north. Try to get as many as you can - once in the larger room you will have to fight Brother Toras, a lich. By pulling his guards out of the room you will be saving yourself from having to deal with them when you don't have the time to do so. The lich is a tough enemy, but can be dealt with. Make sure that you have either Daelan or Linu along for this quest, as their tanking ability will be called into question here. Surround Toras and pound him with your weapons, using Cure Critical Wounds Potions, if he hits you with a nasty spell. You will have to pound through several layers of spell protections though, so a Spell Breach spell might be necessary. Once he dies, he drops the Imaskarran Tome of Life. Bring this book back to Eltoora for a reward.

The Tome of Ice is hidden away in Wanev's Tower off of the South Road. Enter through the front door and go into the library just to the south of the entrance. Disarm the trap on the bookshelf and then grab the book. More details on the tower can be found in the Serpent's Gems section above.

The next two tomes can be found in Castle Jhareg. Refer to the maps presented in the Village of Eternal Night quest. The tomes found in Karlat's Chambers is the Imaskarran Tome of Fire and the one in Quint's Chambers is the Imaskarran Tome of Death. That leaves just one more to find!

The last tome, the Tome of Resonance, is in Setara's home in the Heart of the Forest area of the Neverwinter Woods. Just search the library in the middle of her home to find it. Bring this book back to Eltoora for a nice reward.

To actually use these books, enter her lab and take a look at the scrolls on the shelf. Place the necessary items into the chest and then cast the required spell onto it to create the wanted item. You can do this as many times as you have reagents. For example, I placed a Fire Beetle Belly and a Quartz Crystal into the chest and then cast a fireball spell onto it to create a Staff of Power!

The Spirit of the Woods and The Missing Druids
Talk to Ballard in the city of Port Llast to get this quest. He asks you to find out what is wrong with the animals in the Neverwinter Woods. He points you in the direction of the druid grove there.

Head to the East Road and go east once more to enter the Druid Encampment. Talk to Aawill there to get a pair of quests. I have decided to cover both of them here for simplicity sake. Head east and enter the Deep Woods area. Go to the southeast and enter the spider caves there. You'll have to fight many kinds of spiders in those caves - just head to the southeastern corner to save Orlane from the queen spider. Get some information from him and send him on his way. Leave the spider caves and head north to find the nymph's home. You'll have to fight your way through a bunch of slaves, but none of them are difficult to slay. Go south to rescue the druid Terari and then search the eastern room to find the Lock of Nymph's Hair. Go to the northeastern corner of the area and talk to the nymph to learn how to enter the Realm of the Spirit. Grab both the Ceremonial Dagger and the Mirror of Vanity from the nearby chest. Leave the house and head east into the Heart of the Forest area.

There a few interesting locales here. First go to the northeast to find a camp. Search it to find some Spirit Poison. Then go south to find the lair of the ancient dire bear. Kill it and then head to the northeast to find the home of Setara the witch. In the library you can find the Imaskarran Tome of Resonance. Talk to Setara in the southeastern room to hear of her wish to be beautiful again. Give her the mirror you got from the nymph's home to get her gem and a key. Use the key to free the last of the druids, Bree, from the southwestern prison. Leave the cave and go to the southeastern corner of the map to find an altar. Use the altar to appear in the Realm of the Spirit.

Return to Aawill to get your FOUR rewards. Have fun with all that cash!

The Werewolf Hunter
Talk to Neurik in the temple of Tyr to get this quest. He asks that you track down four boys, give them a charm after beating them in combat and retrieve their rings. Easy enough, eh? Head to the inn and talk to Ander there. He will tell you the supposed locations of the four werewolves.

The first werewolf is in the town itself. Go to the southern farm and be ready to deal battle with Urth, the first of the werewolves. Be ready for a long and tough battle - this sucker sure knows how to deal damage! Try to wedge something in the door so that you can pelt him with ranged attacks. In any case, give him the charm when he surrenders, although you may have to persuade him to accept it. He will give you his ring afterwards. Bring it to the temple for a reward.

Bran, the second werewolf is hiding away in a northeastern cave in the South Road area. Go through the cave and make short work of all the wolf guards. At the end of the passage you will have to fight Bran. Deal with him as you did Urth and he will surrender. Convince him to use the charm and he will be cured. Take his ring back to the temple for your reward.

The third werewolf can be found in the southeast corner of the East Road area. Attack Geth there and give him the charm when he surrenders to get his ring. Return to Neurik with the ring to get a small reward.

The fourth werewolf is only available once you have saved the three other ones. Head to the Green Griffon Inn and enter the cave due east of it. Battle Karathis there and when he surrenders, give him the charm. I ran into a little problem here - a script error that was caused by too many actions taking place. If you lose the charm and get his journal, you are able to continue with the quest. Otherwise you will have to load the last save game. If you get the journal, you can always kill him for the extra experience, if he didn't change back into a man. Take his journal to Neurik to continue this quest.

Give the journal to Neurik and then head to the Alliance Arms Inn. Alhelor will leave just then, so follow him to his house. Once in there get ready to battle a really vicious werewolf. He is just a stronger version of the other wolves and will surrender when near to death. He will try to bargain with you and will rip out his tooth to save himself, but don't accept that. Kill the guy and take his tooth back to Neurik to finish this quest.

Mutamin's Challenge
Talk to any of the named patron's in the Green Griffon Inn to hear about the secret dungeon beneath the inn. You may have to bribe one, bu if lucky you won't have to pay for the information. Then talk to Mutamin to get the key to the basement. Talk to Jaroo down there and pay him 500 gold to enter the dungeon. Listen to the rules and then enter.

There are two ways through the dungeon. I recommend exploring all three areas, but will only present two of them here (the third is a maze that is easy to navigate with the mini-map). The first area presents a lot of tough spiders to kill. In the northeast there is a Queen Spider to kill (tough foe, but just keep your health up to kill it). That is not the way we are going here - instead go south along the first hall and then east when you can. Follow that passage to find a Yuan-Ti. She challenges you with a riddle. The answer to the first question is 15, and the second is "12 trinkets, 5 girls". She'll give you a worthless Crystal Frog and will bid you on your way. Turn around and kill her before going on to the next area.

This next area is rife with undead. Nothing too difficult, but they can swarm you. Take them on a few at a time and you should be fine. Go east into the next chamber and you will be presented with another riddle. The answer is 19. Go through the north doors (the left one leads to a treasure chest with nice contents, and the right one is the exit from the area). You'll have to fight a Ravager Ghoul, but it isn't as hard as some of the other enemies that you have fought so far. Continue on to the north to find a strange pillar. Go east and talk to Gam. Heal him or not and head east through the door. The second you walk in the room you will be attacked by four invisible stalkers. These enemies are hard to kill, but there is an easy solution - drag them to the pillar of light to kill them instantly. Try not to do this, as you won't get any experience for doing it. Killing all four will net you around 2000 experience points! Go east one more room to find the Crystal Egg. Return to where you found Gam and go to the south to find Gorkan. He will attack you on sight and drops the axe that you need for Daelan's quest. Go to the southeast kill all the spiders in the final chamber. Place the Crystal Egg in the chest to finish the challenge. Return to Mutamin to get your reward.

Erik's Despair
Go to the northeastern corner of the Farmlands area and talk to Erik in the house there. He tells you that his ex-girlfriend stole his mother's brooch and he wants it back. Head over to ther house next. She lives in the southwestern corner of the same area. Talk to her and buy the brooch off of her, or simply steal it from her. Return the brooch to Erik to finish this quest.

Peter and the Wolves
Peter O'Deel is looking for someone to kill the pack of wolves that have been eating his cattle. He can be found in the southwest corner of the Farmlands area. Agree to help him and go to the caverns to the east of his farm. Kill all the wolves insidem including Silverback (he is in the southeastern chamber). Bring his head back to Peter to finish the quest. Alternately, you can convince Silverback to leave, but it will then require a large amount of persuasion to convince Peter that his herd is safe.

The Village of Eternal Night
Ch2 karlat.JPG Head to Charwood Village (through the South Road, Farmlands, Haunted Forest) and talk to Quint by the entrance. Head east and talk to the mayor in the town hall. Then talk to the guard at the castle gates. He'll open the gates for you, allowing you entrance to Castle Jhareg.

Open the chest in the entrance and grab the key. Read the letter and then open the northern door (all three lead to the same place, but the center one is easiest and the most rewarding). Opening that door represents that you need a mixture of reason and compassion to have true justice, as either of the two alone leads to bias. Open the chest at the end of the hall to get another letter and then pull the lever to open the door. Talk to the spirit there and agree to be the judge that Lathander has been looking for. All you have to do now is talk to Karlat and Quint in order to discover who the guilty one is. Now it is time to save a city lost in the flow of time!

Go through the door behind the guardian spirit and go up the western stairs to enter Karlat's Chambers. Karlat's Chambers is full of fire-based monsters like Red Slaadi, Hell Hounds, Fire Elementals and Fire Mephits. The Slaadi are the worst of the lot, as they will summon help and disease you. They can also stun you for a few rounds. In other words, take them out first!

You have three goals here - two relevant to this quest, and the last to another optional quest. The first thing that you want to do is collect the two wands and the key. Then head to the library and study the tomb. Go one room to the south and place a Fire Beetle Belly onto the brazier. Use Karlat's Wand of Protection on yourself and then use the other other wand on the brazier to summon Belial. Talk to him to learn of his involvement in the events of the past. Ask him for his oath and he will give it to you. Collect the Imaskarran Tome of Fire that is in the southwestern chamber and then talk to Karlat in the south to get his oath. Return to the last area and go east this time.

Ch2 quint.JPG Quint's Chambers are filled with tons of undead. There are strong undead creatures called Doom Knights and Mohrgs here. These creatures are incredibly tough, but manageable in small groups if you are level 12 or higher. You might want to take Linu along here for obvious reasons. Otherwise you have seen all the enemies here!

The first thing to seek out is the key. Go around the hallway and into the room marked 'key'. Pick up the key from the chest and then go get the tome in the western library. You can use a lab here to make potions, but don't bother since it takes too much time and is pretty useless anyways. You need to be a divine spellcaster to make potions here. When you are done here, head south to Quint's room. Before you can enter his room you will have to fight a really strong Bodak. Keep your forces seperated when fighting this beast, or you might see it wiping your entire group away with a single spell! Destroy it and then talk to Quint to get his oath.

With all three oaths in hand head back to the guardian spirit. Make sure that you grabbed both the Imaskarran Tomes (you can't return here later!) and then give the two oaths to the spirit. Now you have a choice to make. To get the best reward, as well as being the most honest, tell the spirit that neither brother is guilty and show it the third oath that you got. You will then be asked to make a decision regarding the phylactery. Keep it to get the best ending here. As you exit the castle, the spirit of the mayor will reward you. Now it is time to return to town! Phew!

What Lurks Below
Of the three East Road quests this is the most interesting. Talk to Jax in the camp to learn of his quest to find information on the creator races. Agree to help him and then talk to his two friends in the barracks. Head to the northeast and enter the storage area. In this set of caverns you will fight lots of trolls and ogres, along with a few undead creatures. None of them are that hard and they shouldn't worry you at all. Go to the southeast, but before you descend another level, make sure that you save Revat's mother who happens to be in the area.

When on the first floor go to the north. Go through the door and kill the Troll Chieftain. Go to the west and you'll find the Journal of Synth La'neral, an item that you'll need for Linu's quest. Go south to find the stairs to the second floor. Just go south on the second floor to get to the third floor. When on the third floor, head east to enter the Creator Ruins.

The creator ruins are full of construct type monsters. Sneak Attacks and mind affecting spells have no place here. Make sure that you grab the Prism Blossom Seed from the crates near the entrance and then head to the southeast to find the Golem Signet Ring. Return to the north and give it to the Seal Guardian Golem. Go east now and enter the second area. The second area is just as simple. Head straight south to find the Creater Scroll and then return to the north to tell golem the password.

Once you are on the third floor, head south into the long, circular hallway. Head south and go into the first door you come to. Go north and pick up the Stolen Seal Key from the thief's body. Return to the entrance and go east. You'll have to kill the Seal Guardian Golem this time before you can pass through the gate. On the other side you will have to fight some Creator Sorcerers. Charge at them and kill them before they can get too many spells off. That goes the same way for the sorcerer in the following room too. Before he dies he will give you a chance to talk to him, but he will attack you anyways after the conversation is over. Kill him and then loot the room to find three unique tomes. Take them back to Jax for your reward.

The Simpleton's Mother
Revat in the camp barracks is looking for his mother. Agree to help him and he should give you his father's ring. Head into the storage caves and his mother, Janis, can be found in the southern area. Give her the ring to free her. You might have to return to Revat to get the ring (seems to be a bug), but shouldn't have to. Once she is free return to Revat for your reward.

A Troll Head Trophy
Lenton in the camp barracks is looking for the troll that killed his brother. The troll he is looking for is the troll chieftain. You can find him in the first troll cave area, behind a locked door. This is covered in the What Lurks Below quest above. Once you kill the chieftain, pick up its head and return it to Lenton for your reward.

Druid's Circle
You require at least one level of the druid class to undertake this quest. This quest is a lot like the Gauntlet quest from the first chapter, as it is a series of one-on-one fights against the reigning druids of the Neverwinter Woods. Just talk to Jaer in the Druid Encampment to begin this series of battles. All of the battles are pretty straightforward and shouldn't be a challenge to you, if you have already finished all of the above quests.
