The torch relays are just around the corner and will be among the most exciting events leading up to the TORONTO 2015 Games. Igniting the spirit in communities each day, the torch relays will set the stage for the largest multi-sport event ever held in Canada. Trust me when I say, the torch relays will be incredible and will give Canadians a chance to feel the Pan Am and Parapan Am spirit first-hand.
My experience as a torchbearer during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay was like no other. It was truly a powerful opportunity to feel the emotion and excitement of Canadians as I carried the flame.
Throughout the torch relays, the community celebrations will show the very best that we have to offer to Ontario, Canada and the Americas. The celebrations will be a chance to spotlight each community as part of the flame’s journey en route to lighting the cauldron at the Opening Ceremonies.
The torch relays will be filled with celebrations, participation and pride, and I encourage you to join in as we mark this moment in history.
