Another Rally for Hakkinen
2 February 2004 – 1998 and 1999 Formula One World Champion Mika Hakkinen has completed his second Arctic Rally in snowbound northern Finland.
This year Hakkinen finished seventh driving a Toyota Corolla - a marked improvement on his debut when he finished 33rd.
""It's only the second time I've competed in this rally," he said. "Last year we were 33rd so this is a real improvement. Perhaps I'm getting the hang of it!"
The Arctic terrain once again proved a real car-breaker with more than half the field sliding out of the 1,000 kilometre event, featuring 13 special stages.
Hakkinen does not have any plans to permanently reinvigorate his motor racing career.
