Gift Uwame, popularly known as Muma Gee is the latest entertainer that has joined the politics bandwagon. But then, the singer has said she is not going to quit her first love in the process.

Married to Nollywood actor, Prince Eke, Muma said, “Entertainment has always paid me. It is my passion. Music is part of my life. I am music and music is me. How can I quit something I eat, drink and live for? I am not quitting at all.”

But when asked how she intends to combine politics and her first love Muma said, “When we get to that bridge, we would cross it.”

Muma is gunning for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives representing Abua/Odua and Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State under the Peoples Democratic Party. She said she got into politics to “liberate” her people.

“It is time my people got liberated. The person there has gone for eight years and has done nothing for my people. This is time for a change” she said.

Muma said she is not threading this new terrain because some of her colleagues have already joined politics.

“I wouldn’t know why my colleagues joined politics. But then, there is a thin line between politics and entertainment. I just want to perform my civic responsibility and see how I can change the lives of my people,” she said.
