Mitrovica - The streets and squares of the town of Mitrovica on Saturday were crowded with citizens coming from all over Kosovo and beyond in order to participate in central celebration in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Independence of Albania and Flag Day, whereas the statue of the national hero Isa Boletini is unveiled.

In the central manifestation held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, the Mayor of Mitrovica, Avni Kastrati, after welcoming the participants, appraised this event as a historic moment, not only for Mitrovica but the entire Albanian people, where the statue of Isa Boletini brought them together in Mitrovica today on the 100th anniversary of Independence of Albania. . 

 

The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, conveyed fraternal greetings to the participants from Tirana and Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha. Speaking of the figure of Isa Boletini, he said that men like him are born rarely, but they are the genesis of the history of independence. 

 

The president of BDI in Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, said the he left many activities in Macedonia being held in the frame of the 100th anniversary of Albania's independence just to be with his brothers in Mitrovica. 

 

Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci congratulated to all Albanians the return of Isa Boletini in Mmitrovica, the town of the miners. 

 

On behalf of the family of Isa Boletini, the great-grandson Gazmend Boletini, after he thanked all  the present in the manifestation, made a request to the institutions of Kosovo to enable the reburial of the remains of Isa Boletini. 

 

The manifestation continued with the artistic program, and after a while in the square that bears his name, was unveiled the statue of the national hero Isa Boletini, in the presence of representatives of institutions and citizens gathered from all over Kosovo and beyond.
