New release celebrates Michael Jackson's 'Bad'
Michael Jackson's history-making follow-up to Thriller is reissued in Bad: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, a three-CD/one-DVD set (Sony/Legacy, $40) that captures the King of Pop at his height of popularity. The concert DVD ($12) will also be sold separately. --Jones
DVD/BLU-RAY
Katy Perry's 'Part of Me' yours to bring home on DVD/Blu-ray
If you're a Katy Perry fan but somehow missed her well-received documentary in theaters this summer, Katy Perry: Part of Me is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. As the title suggests, the film juggles concert footage with behind-the-scenes interviews and moments in which the singer/songwriter discusses her life and career, from her upbringing in a Pentecostal family to her relationship with British actor/comedian Russell Brand, whom she divorced this year. The Blu-ray is available in 3-D (as the film was presented), and there are cameo appearances by fellow pop stars Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. -- Gardner
STREAMING
Green Day, iHeartRadio bring the music to you
Give Green Day's new Uno! a test drive. The trio are streaming the full album (out Tuesday) on their Facebook page this week. It's the first installment of their trilogy of albums, which continues with the aptly named Dos! (Nov. 13) and Tre! (Jan. 15), all produced by longtime friend Rob Cavallo.
Meanwhile, the iHeartRadio music festival returns to Sin City, but not everyone can make it, of course. No matter: The Vegas fest is streaming (at festival.iheart.com). Headliners include Taylor Swift, Aerosmith, Rihanna, Swedish House Mafia and the aforementioned Green Day, offering another way to give Green Day's new stuff a spin. -- Lopez
TV
Womack, Mumford, Ne-Yo lead a weekend of tune-ins
Music fans with wide tastes will be rewarded on television this weekend. On Friday's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC, 11:35 p.m. ET/PT), R&B legend Bobby Womack teams up with Blur's Damon Albarn to perform music from Womack's new album, The Bravest Man In the Universe. British folk group Mumford & Sons appears on Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday, 11:30 p.m. ET/PT). Finally, Ne-Yo will be featured in what's looking like an especially promising season of VH1's Behind the Music (Sunday, 9 p.m. ET/PT). His episode will feature exclusive footage of the young singer performing on Showtime at the Apollo as a member of a boy band. --Mansfield
