On the 17th of December a Christmas Carol Service, organised by a committee of transition year students from Stella Maris and CBS taking part in the Pope John Paul II Award, was held in Tramore Church.
On the committee were 7 students: David Doyle, Philip Griffin, Jack Shiels, Ciana Butler, Carrie-Ann Walsh, Angelica Jaskolka and Shaunie Colman. Meetings were held in advance to organise the carol service, posters were made to advertise it and two of the committee members went on the local radio to promote the event.
On the night beautiful music was provided by choirs from all over Waterford, Vanessa Whelan, Tramore’s very own Fr. Michael. There were also readings and reflections provided by students from CBS and Stella Maris.
The night was a huge success and €3000 was raised. The funds were split between The Saint Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal and The Church Refurbishment Fund.
