Grand Lodge Educational Assistance Program

The Grand Lodge of New York through its Trustees of the Masonic Hall and Asylum established a scholarship in 1996. The Education Assistance Committee of Grand Lodge administers this scholarship program for post high school level students. The effort is directed at the sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters of Master Masons in good standing, belonging to Lodges within the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of New York.

Awards totaling over $500,000 are made annually based upon academic achievement, community involvement and financial need. Applications for scholarship assistance are available from all Lodge Secretaries, District Deputy Grand Masters and may be downloaded from this site ( see forms ) or the Empire State Mason web site, www.ESMason.com. All applications must be complete and postmarked by April 1, including the signature of the Master and Secretary of the Lodge and be embossed with the Lodge seal.

Scholarships are awarded according to academic excellence and the students’ involvement in their communities. Award presentations to the recipients are made at central locations within the four regions of New York State.

Award presentations are made during early summer at several locations throughout New York State. All Brethren are cordially invited to attend. The Grand Master and or the Deputy Grand Master are always in attendance to make the scholarship presentations. For presentation details please check the Grand Lodge Bulletin Board at this web site.
