The Bharatiya Janata Party legislator from Hisar, Kamal Gupta on Tuesday said the Union government was considering converting Hisar aerodrome into an international airport. Addressing a public meeting at Aggarwal Colony, he said, "The Centre wants to reduce the air traffic pressure on Delhi's IGI airport and Hisar being about 160 km from Delhi has been found as the most appropriate place for an international airport near Delhi. The survey has already begun."
Hisar town is going to witness big development in near future, Gupta said, adding that counter magnet city or Smart City should have proper water supply and sewerage and the state government has already started work on these projects.
He added that the state government is going to place three proposals before the union railway minister. These projects include Hansi-Rohtak railway link, Hisar-Agroha railway line and establishment of washing yard at Hisar junction so that long-distance trains may reach Hisar instead of Bhiwani.
