JUNIOR (2001-2002): Gained his first start of the season against Houston...tallied 13 points, 3 defensive rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, and 1 steal in the starting role...played a total of 28 minutes in the game...against UL-L he hit for double figures again - 14 points...5-9 from the field, 4-6 from the FT line, grabbed 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 steals, and 4 personal fouls in his 26 minutes of playing time...against Minnesota, Pawel had his first double-double as he tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds during this 28 minutes of floor time...in the Wyoming game, Pawel's free throw shooting (5-8) was important down the stretch for the Red Raiders. He was 1-6 from the floor and garnered 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, and 1 steal in addition to drawing a difficult defensive assignment against Josh Davis.
