We have a full restaurant, the focus being on providing honest, delicious pub fayre, that means home-made food using locally-sourced fresh ingredients. We have three restaurant areas, all with real coal fires and free broadband WiFi access. We are dedicated to the quality of our beers, lagers and ciders. As a CAMRA member, your landlord is proud to have the "Cask Marque" accreditation for the quality of the cask beers. We have five cask ales always available; Theakson's Best Bitter, Theakson's Old Peculier, Theakston's Lightfoot, Theakston's XB, John Smith's Best Bitter. We also have a guest cask available, along with John Smith's Extra Smooth (a keg ale) and draught Guinness. We have excellent lagers on draught as follows: - Foster's, Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664. Came across this pub in Hawes on a cold wet day. A warm welcome both in terms of cosy bar fires and friendly staff behind the bar. Had a very good chicken and ham pie with chips made from real potatoes and pea and ham risotto. Both excellent quality but huge portions we could not, unfortunately finish.

We have visited this pub on several occasions and Lyndsay (the Landlady) is an absolute breath of fresh air. Nothing is a problem for either her or her staff, we even had to go back to the motor home to bring our Rottweiler who Lyndsay had met before to come and see her. She gave her and other dogs in... Quite a character venue, with a landlord to match: affable, black shirt and bow tie, with Jimmy Edwards style (if you're old enough to remember) moustache. The walls are surrounded by quotes from such as Oscar Wilde and G B Shaw to... More

My husband and I booked a table on Sat. 4th Oct after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately, I am not sure whether it was because the pub was so packed but my ribeye steak was that very chewy and the pepper sauce was like water!. My husband did enjoy the beef and ale pie so not all was lost. We... More
