The Arctic

The United States and Canada share similar goals and concerns in the Arctic. U.S. Arctic policy emphasizes environmental protection, sustainable development, and the role of indigenous peoples and other Arctic residents as stakeholders in the Arctic. The U.S. and Canada work together to promote the viability and socio-economic well-being of Arctic communities, and both nations support scientific research and international cooperation in pursuit of these goals.
