Hemp nettle, apothecary name Galeopsidis herba. This plant has a long history especially in folk medicine. It differs from other nettles primarily by height of 30 - 50 cm. It contains many elements and is extremely healing.
Healing properties – of hemp nettle tea
The proven healing properties of nettle are:
- Against dry cough,
- Against chest pain,
- Exceptionally good at old age bronchitis,
- Against chronic pulmonary catarrh,
- And many other healing properties.
Preparation – of hemp nettle tea
For the above mentioned healing properties tea is prepared as follows:
- Boil 2.5 dl of water,
- Pour the water over 1 large spoon of plant,
- Leave it for 10 min,
- Strain it,
- You can start drinking this somewhat bitter beverage. Drink this tea warm, 1 cup after meals, three times a day.
Additives to the prepared – hemp nettle tea
Sweeten according to your taste. Honey is given advantage to sweetener.

Nettle tea can be found in: filter bags, packaging with leaves, with leaves and stem, and the tops of nettle.

It is picked during flowering in July and August. The flower and the upper part of the plant are used.

The picked upper part of the plant (above ground) is dried in a cool and airy place.

Hemp nettle contains: iron, sulfur, sodium, potassium, tannin, saponin, malic acid, resinous substance, fat acids, choline, stahrin, essential oil, phytosterol.
