Synopsis:
A young Polish girl freshly arrived in England is lured to one of her colleague’s house where a family of maniac will kidnap her and use her as their human pet.
Horror-on-Screen Review (by Raoul):
Mum & Dad is a film totally fucked up, but in a brilliant way. This English family in which the young girl is trapped is far beyond the limit of sanity. Each of the characters is really special: the dad is disgusting, the mum nuts, the girl nasty, etc. Each of them is complex and has its own vice which makes them very interesting but also very, very bizarre. The dad is my favorite, terribly filthy (he regularly masturbates in human meat loaf).
Mum & Dad has quite a simple story, but one that is brilliantly told. This is actually one of the few films that managed to really disgust me, somehow in the vein of The Human Centipede. The acting is remarkable and you really get to hate these characters, especially the mean daughter that I felt like punching in the face at each scene in which she appeared.
Be careful, that film can be quite disturbing, in the vein of “The Girl Next Door” or “Dead Girl”, but if you like that type of cinema, you’ll enjoy that one. Prepare yourself to feel sorry for the main victim!
