Have You Ever Experienced a Traumatic of Life-Threatening Event?

  • SINCE THE TRAUMA, have you:
    Had nightmares or flashbacks?
    Tried to avoid thinking or talking about it?
    Felt jumpy or anxious?
    Become less connected with people around you, or less interested in activities you used to enjoy?

  • If so, you may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine is conducting a study of an investigational medication that may help relieve your PSTD symptoms. You may be eligible to participate if you have PSTD and are 18-65 years old. Participation involves a thorough psychiatric and medical screening.

    Are you one of the millions who have been stopped by CONSTIPATION?

    Local study doctors need your help with THE CIC3 Study evaluating an investigational study drug for chronic constipation. To pre-qualify for this research study you must be between 18 and 80 years of age and have had chronic constipation for at least 3 months. Participants must have a history of fewer than 3 bowel movements per week.

    NOT SEEING THE RESULTS YOU WANT FROM YOUR ANTIDEPRESSANT
    Please consider our depression research study
    Our office is conducting a research study to evaluate whether adding an investigational medication to an approved antidepressant therapy might give relief from the symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD) when added to a current medication.

    You may be able to take part in this study if you:
  • Are 18 - 65 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
  • Have been experiencing symptoms of depression for at least the past 2 months
  • Have been taking at least one antidepressant medication as prescribed but it is not helping you enough.
  • Additional study criteria will be assessed by the study doctor.
    The study lasts 19 to 26 weeks. Participants will receive either the investigational medication or Seroquel XR or a placebo (an inactive subsctance) in addition to a standard antidepressant therapy medication.
    All study-related medications, office visits and examinations will be provided to you at no cost.
    At the end of the study, you may be eligible to participate in a 52-week extension research study in which all participants will receive the investigational medication. The study staff will discuss this with you at the time.
