After a sci-fi detour, M. Night Shyamalan is revisiting the genre that launched his career.

EW can confirm that Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Shyamalan’s The Visit, which he will write and produce in addition to directing. The film is currently set for a Sept. 11, 2015 release. Deadline first reported the news.

The Visit tells the story of a brother and sister on a weeklong trip at their grandparents’ Pennsylvanian farm. While there, the siblings discover their grandparents have been hiding some disturbing secrets, slimming down the children’s chances of ever returning home.

Shyamalan will produce the film via his studio Blinding Edge Pictures, while Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is also set to produce. The Visit will mark a return to form for Shyamalan, whose most recent work, other than the upcoming Fox television show Wayward Pines, has consisted of big-budget blockbuster fare like The Last Airbender and After Earth, neither of which performed particularly well at the box office.
