2007 Urban Karlström
"Throughout his career Urban Karlström has been a source of inspiration for research in new areas. He is known as a mentor to young researchers, using his broad network of contacts in both the public sector and world of commerce. He actively bridges technology and market as well as public and private sectors. He follows each individual project with deep personal engagement and great interest. Urban Karlström’s participation in the EFI Advisory Board is another example of his strong involvement on behalf of EFI and research at the Stockholm School of Economics. All in all, he is a worthy recipient of this year’s EFI Research award."

2006 Fredrik Lundberg
"Fredrik Lundberg has for a long period and in many ways shown a strong interest and a personal involvement in Stockholm School of Economics, including the research at EFI. As Chairman of The Lundberg Foundations, he actively contributes in supporting and stimulating the combination of technological and economic perspectives in research. He also contributes by constantly reflecting on research results from a practitioner’s point of view when meeting the academy, especially regarding the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. This combination of interest and capacity to assimilate, reflect on and use economic research makes Fredrik Lundberg a very qualified Research Award winner."

His seriousness, integrity and long-term perspective has for decades not only enriched business practice but also been an asset in promoting and developing support for research, thereby helping researchers, young as well as more experienced, fund projects in their own preferred areas."

2000 Roland Fahlin and Lennart Hjalmarson
"Both through their individual contributions and unwavering commitment to Swedish economic research, Roland Fahlin and Lennart Hjalmarson have helped to expand the possibilities for carrying out research in this discipline. This is most readily apparent in their efforts to strengthen several important links between the academy and the practical world of trade and industry. For a number of years they have supported academic research in general and the EFI in particular - primarily with their knowledge, their time and their  interest in the questions, both great and small, that make up the daily routine of  economic research - but also through their financial support. For inquisitive researchers, their generosity has opened the door to  empirical material that is essential for theory building, and thereby it  has been possible to bring many research projects to a successful conclusion". EFI Board of Directors.
