CNDA Board of Directors

Dr. Setareh Tais, ND - President
Dr. Tais founded and maintains a naturopathic private family practice in Fresno, CA where she sees patients of all ages but has a special interest in integrative reproductive medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Physiology and Neurology at UCSD, received her naturopathic doctorate (ND) from Bastyr University and completed a CMNE-approved integrative family medicine residency, during which time she also served on the WANP Board of Directors and Continuing Education Committee. Shortly after relocating to California, she joined the CNDA Board of Directors in 2012, where she initially participated on the legislative committee to ensure our scope of practice parallels our training and to gain health insurance coverage so that naturopathic medical services are not cost prohibited in our communities. She believes that naturopathic doctors are part of the solution to a healthcare system struggling with rising costs and an alarming shortage of primary care providers. Having participated in numerous research studies since 2005, she affirms that naturopathic medicine is cost-effective primary care with therapies that are evidence-based, wellness-oriented and holistic.

While continuing her participation on the Legislative Committee, Dr. Tais has begun her tenure as President of the CNDA also co-chairing the Professional Development Committee, determined to improve both the access to and the quality of naturopathic medical continuing education. She has been a founding board member of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians since 2013, where she hopes to promote education and research pertaining to naturopathic reproductive endocrinology. She has also been serving on the AANP House of Delegates since 2013.

Dr. Tais has presented evidence-based research about naturopathic medicine in lectures, social media and peer-reviewed journals. Her writings on women’s health, pediatrics and reproductive medicine have appeared in the Naturopathic Doctor News and Review and the Natural Medicine Journal.  Contact Dr. Tais at drtais@calnd.org.
