Our Twitter followers have been proudly sharing photos of their flooring with us, and they have been going the extra mile to create something special for homes using our Camaro and Colonia ranges.

The beauty of luxury vinyl tiles is that a unique floor can be created by simply laying the planks or tiles in a pattern and using feature strips to make the design really stand out.

These installations really shows you the full potential of what can be done with luxury vinyl tiles and how much of an impact a professionally laid and well designed floor can make in even the smallest of kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces.

Bevel Line tiles have the edge

We know Polyflor customers want flooring in their home to have the durability of vinyl with the realism of wood, so we created our Bevel Line PUR to replicate the appearance and feel of traditional floorboards and stone tiles.

These luxury vinyl tiles feature a bevelled edge which creates a v-shaped groove in between each plank when installed. This subtly accentuates each individual plank and tile to give that desired authentic look.

These bevelled designs come in 20 different shade options in popular wood and stone designs such as Light Oak and Portland Stone featured here. The variety of tones in the collection means that there will be an option to complement any modern or traditional style and colour scheme in the home. Click here to see the full range.

Like Polyflor’s other flooring collections, Bevel Line has a PUR polyurethane coating which means that the floor is extremely easy to maintain with no polish required, which we’re sure is music to any homeowner’s ears.

These robust tiles with extra definition are suitable for use in commercial areas like shops and offices, so are hardwearing enough to last in the busiest areas of your home such as hallways and corridors.

Design & Function Locked In – with Camaro Loc

We are very excited to present you with our brand new innovative collection of interlocking vinyl tiles, Camaro Loc. Launched under the highly regarded Camaro Luxury Vinyl Tile brand, the Camaro Loc collection is practical and beautiful for use in all internal areas of the home including kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces.

The unique locking system eliminates the need for adhesion conveniently reducing installation time. Influenced by today’s home interior trends the collection of 15 popular wood and stone designs feature R10 slip resistance brilliant for preventing slips in the home, protecting you and your family.

To support the recommended installation methods for interlocking vinyl flooring such as Camaro Loc, we have also developed a new Vinyl Loc Underlay. Installed beneath interlocking vinyl flooring, Vinyl Loc Underlay is on hand to prevent planks becoming damaged and reduce impact noise by 19dB – great for keeping noise down between neighbouring rooms.

To help you to understand the complexity involved in creating each layout, each design floor is accompanied by a 1, 2 or 3 star rating. This easy to follow system illustrates the different installation options available from simply mixing wood and stone tiles together (1 star) through to detailed bespoke cut design floors (3 stars).

Our Cure for The Monday Blues!

Monday’s more often than not fall victim to a rather awful reputation, but here at Polyflor at Home HQ we want to try and blow them away for good (…with a little help from the wind outside!)

Let us start with one of the greatest and most anticipated celestial displays; the Perseid Meteor Shower (has anyone spotted Google’s Doodle today?). Known as the “fireball champion”, this beautiful wonder of our universe is made up from the debris stream from comet Swift-Tuttle and at it’s peak, observers can view 60 to 100 meteors in an hour! Activity is said to peak tonight, but will continue until Wednesday. For some advice on how is best to view the shower check out this fantastic resource by clicking here. And, if you’re lucky enough to experience parts of the display, let us know by leaving a comment, and if you manage to capture any shots we’d love to see them!

Our second way of banishing the blues is by our most recent and fantastic customer installations! Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen some lovely applications of the Colonia and Camaro flooring ranges across a number of rooms within the home. In this batch we have an eclectic selection of woods, stones and tiles which really shows off the diverse selection of finishes in each of the LVT ranges on offer from Polyflor at Home.

We have even spotted two installations of Bevel Line flooring in the stunning French Nut Tree decor! This fantastic collection of bevel edged luxury vinyl tiles is predominantly installed within commercial environments, but you can really see how easily adaptable and flexible the flooring is to be able to be used within a home.

Our Latest Fantastic Customer Installations!

So it’s been a couple of weeks since our last post of customer installations and in that time we’ve all finally started to experience a summer, hurrah! We’ve been dying to share this strong and varied collection of fantastic customer installations with you all since last time so let’s get straight in to it.

It’s a real joy to see how customers continue to look to the Camaro and Colonia brochures for inspiration for how the flooring can be laid, but also how people are thinking outside of the box with their own creative designs. It shows how diverse the LVT Collections are and how tailored you can really make them. Interestingly this week we have a before and after shot from CJC Flooring, which shows a 1930s brick red tile being overlaid with Camaro Portico Limestone in an entrance hall. The effect is staggering, and as you will see it completely lightens the space whilst also giving the hall a warmer, modern and open feel.

We have also spotted a growing theme of some very cute cats being fans of the Camaro flooring ranges! A couple are included below, but for more be sure to check out our twitter feed. You will spot a very comfortable-looking cat on top of some Camaro boxes! – which made us ponder; why exactly do cats love boxes? :)

House Shaped Dreaming

As you may have noticed in last week’s round up of customer installations, I mentioned the increasing trend in house-shaped designs and objects. Ranging from house-shaped coasters, to house-shaped terrariums, and recycled house-shaped post-it notes to house-shaped architecture, this design trend is becoming more and more popular within the home.

And it’s not just us here at Polyflor at Home HQ who are as elated about this, our trusty design experts and design forecasters at Grand Designs Magazine are as well! They have homed in on this fabulous and growing trend, which we noticed last Thursday when they tweeted:

The idea of including house-shaped objects within the home alludes to the idea that house and home is a lot more than bricks and motor. It infinitely bridges the gap amidst the two and creates a strong and loving relationship between both house and home. We are presented with two completely different ideals here, two which evoke different feelings and emotions, but in order for each to exist and their existence to be complete, one must come with the other.

This has opened up the gates for contemporary and minimal design to provide warmth, and comfort to living areas and to really make you feel like you’re at home, which can often be hard to achieve within a modernised living space.

It’s interesting to see that an angular a-shape (one of our favourites :)), can allude to these feelings as it does, and we love how this very simple, but powerful notion has provided us with the following design-brilliance:
