Football Kenya Federation and Kenya Premier League have failed to reach an agreement over the composition and running of Kenya’s top tier league after a meeting held on Wednesday 18 February.
The two parties were ordered by Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario to come up with a solution by Wednesday 18 or else the government will swing into action.
Speaking after the meeting, KPL Chairman Ambrose Rachier confirmed that they have not reached an agreement as the FKF team wanted the sides to vote on the issue but KPL shot down the suggestion since FKF came to the meeting with over 30 members who way outnumbered the KPL team members.
Outnumbered KPL
-There is no resolution from the meeting since we could not agree, the chairman of the meeting (Nyamweya) suggested that we take a vote. We could however not take part in it because the FKF team way outnumbered KPL team, he said.
The mantle is now in CS Wario’s hand who had promised to take action should the two parties fail to come up with a solution.
