A Project: Flatten Bubbled Veneer with Hand Weights
One of the projects for this week is to flatten bubbles that developed in the top of a dining table we are refurbishing. Lacking the tools from the restorer’s guide I was using, here’s how I’m achieving the result with the weights I borrowed from my grandson:
The table top’s surface is covered with plastic coated freezer paper with the aim of preventing the paper from sticking to the slow-drying, diamond hard varnish I finished to top with (to make the top surface impervious to liquids so easy to wipe down and easy to manage spills).
That’s just a quick peek at how to flatten bubbled veneer with hand weights, illustrated by this week’s project.
