small paddocks

Each of the eight sand yards/shelters are situated as part of a small paddock – ideal for re-introducing the horses to a paddock situation as the final stage of their recovery with us. Each paddock has safe Diamond Mesh fencing with treated pine posts with hardwood top rails with electric wire on all the rails.

The paddocks are spaced 1500 mm apart to allow for a landscaping buffer between them. This also assists in keeping the  horses at a safe distance from each other.  Each paddock has been constructed with two entry gates – each gate having two posts at 45 degrees to form a more horse-friendly corner rather than one 90-degree corner. Two entry gates also helps with the horses not gravitating to one point in the paddock.
