Dublin hotel prices rise by 86% for St Patrick’s Day

Hotel prices in Dublin have risen by 86% for St Patrick's Day, according to hotel comparison website trivago.ie.

One night in the capital on Monday March 16, the night before St Patrick's day, will cost an average of €182. In comparison the following Monday, March 23, will cost just €98 for one night.

To stay in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day itself will cost on average of €178. You could stay in Dublin on the same day a week later for 76% less, an cost of €101.

With four days of festivities planned, hotel prices are high throughout the weekend from Saturday to Tuesday.

The rise in price is in line with last year's figures when Dublin hotel prices rose by 86% compared to the monthly average. One postive however is that compared to last year, the average peak price has fallen on the weekend's busiest day from €210 to €182.

Limerick is the only other city to see a rise in hotel prices over the St Patrick's Day weekend with hotels costing an average of €88 compared to the mothly average of €77.
