MANILA - It's back to work for actress Jodi Sta. Maria, who had to spend time with boyfriend Jolo Revilla after he accidentally shot himself on the chest.

On Thursday, Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban attended the photo shoot for ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Pangako Sa 'Yo," which will star the popular love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Sta. Maria will take on the iconic role of Amor Powers, which was played by Eula Valdes in the original series that ran from 2000 to 2002. Meanwhile, Panganiban gets to sink her teeth in the character of Claudia Buenavista, which was first portrayed by Jean Garcia.

In an interview, Sta. Maria and Panganiban shared how they shot to their much-talked-about slapping scene for the show's teaser.

"Nasampal na ako ni Cherie Gil, Maricel (Soriano ) pero nung sinampal niya ako, ang sakit nun ha," Panganiban admitted.

"When we were shooting the teaser, grabe 'yun agad. ...Ang feeling namin ay first scene, love scene, ganoon ka-awkward," Sta. Maria added.

Sta. Maria and Panganiban vouched that their slapping scenes were all real and not fake.

"Kasi parang 'di naha-happy ang mga direktor kapag kontrolado. Gusto nila palagi bigay na bigay," Sta. Maria said.

"Naniniwala kami sa trabaho namin. At saka mas gusto ko 'yon bilang artista kung talagang sinasaktan ka, hindi ba? Mas matutulungan ka talaga," Panganiban added.

"Pangako Sa 'Yo" will air soon on ABS-CBN.
