MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion, has had to withdraw from the Miami Open due to exhaustion, the same reason that put her out of the BNP Paribas Open.
"Unfortunately I am still not feeling 100% and am therefore disappointed to announce my withdrawal from the Miami Open," Kvitova said in a statement. "I have always enjoyed playing in Miami so I will be sad not to be there this year. I am doing everything I can to restore my energy levels for a return to action and plan to be back in time for the Fed Cup semifinal against France on April 18 and 19.
"The Miami Open is a fantastic tournament and I am really looking forward to returning there in 2016."
Kvitova's best result at the Miami Open was the quarterfinals in 2014 (falling to Maria Sharapova).
