The current temporary casino will be incorporated into this new project by removing the brick facade and replacing it with metal, glass, precast concrete and stone.
The exterior of this project will include 350 tons of stainless steel, and 850 tons of mild steel.
One of the middle floors of the tower caught fire on February 16, 2007, when a carpenter accidentially sparked some insulation. The fire was put out quickly, with only minor damage to the hotel.
The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 30, 2005.
The structure features a curtain wall glass system accented with horizontal, stainless steel bands. The elevator towers on each side of the tower feature brick masonry to complement the historic Wagner Baking Company Building section of the casino.
