Airline offers discounts on international trips
HA NOI — Vietnam Airlines will offer discounts of up to 85 per cent on all its international flights for bookings made between September 30 and October 10. The discounts will apply for flights departing between October 15 and December 31 this year and from April 1 to May 31 next year.
Nearly 90,000 tickets will be discounted to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi. Return tickets to other Southeast Asian countries will be cut by 85 per cent to VND950,000 and flights to Japan and the Republic of Korea will be discounted by 82 per cent to VND5.8 million.
Discounts of 80 per cent, 50 per cent and 40 per cent will be applied for flights to Northeast Asian nations, Australia and Europe respectively.
CT Group signs strategic partnership
HCM CITY — CT Group, which has interests in real estate, high-end retail, healthcare, education, mining, eco-tourism and financial sectors, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Vietinbank Securities Company (VietinbankSC).
VietinbankSC will provide consultancy services on corporate restructuring, finance, securities, listing and investment. It will also underwrite the group's securities issues, among others.
Accor signs hotel management contracts
HCM CITY — International hotel operator Accor has won new contracts to manage a resort in Do Son District in the northern port city of Hai Phong and another hotel in central Da Nang City, scheduled to open in 2013 and mid 2011 respectively. The facilities will be managed under the group's Pullman brand, bringing the total number in Viet Nam to five. Pullman Da Nang Beach will feature over 200 rooms, four restaurants and various leisure facilities.
Grant Thornton enters strategic alliance
HCM CITY — The audit and consultancy firm GrantThornton Viet Nam and the local company Global Intergration Business Consultants (GIBC) yesterday announced their strategic cooperation alliance to tap potential in the services sector. A focus of the cooperation will be assisting Vietnamese companies in their restructuring to grow and integrate sustainably into the world's economy.
First fibreglass plant inaugurated
QUANG NAM — Quang Nam Mineral Technology Company has inaugurated a fibreglass cloth factory in the northern province of Quang Nam.
The factory is the first of its kind in Viet Nam. The factory, covering a total area of 20ha at Thang Binh District, has an investment of VND16 billion (US$820,512) and is expected to produce 1,000 tonnes of fibreglass a year.— VNS
