Pietersen Return To England On Cards

The new chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board is willing to discuss a return to the national side for the controversial batsman.  Pietersen has been outspoken about his problems with the England team since his sacking in February 2014, but has not ruled out a reconciliation.  

England Announce Test Squad

Jonathan Trott has been recalled to the England Test squad for the tour of West Indies starting next month.  The Warwickshire batsman enters the international fold for the first time since leaving the squad during the 2013/2014 Ashes tour due to a stress-related issue.

ICC To Crack Down On Bad Behaviour

The International Cricket Council are preparing to ban or heavily fine players found guilty of excessive sledging at the upcoming World Cup.  The tournament, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand, will be the first competition to see the new approach introduced.  According to the BBC, for a first offence players will likely be fined, and then if caught sledging again the individual will be banned.

England Reach Tri-Series Final

England will play Australia in the tri-series final on Sunday after beating India by three wickets in Perth.  With both sides losing their two matches against the hosts, Peter Moores’ side needed victory to ensure their spot in the final, despite having already beaten India emphatically last week.

Perth Scorchers Win Big Bash

Perth Scorchers overcame a late wobble to beat the Sydney Sixes by one run to successfully defend  their Big Bash title in dramatic circumstances.  With just one run required from the last three balls veteran bowler Brett Lee, who has announced his retirement from the game, took two wickets in two balls.

Pakistan All-Rounder Stumped By Ghost

Pakistan international Haris Sohail has been unable to train ahead of their two one-day internationals against New Zealand after being spooked by a ghostly encounter.  According to the BBC, the all-rounder has been left visibly shaken by the incident in the team’s hotel room at the Rydges Latimer Hotel in Christchurch, and could not train.

Afridi Joins Northants

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has joined Northants for their T20 Blast campaign this season.  The 34-year-old will play in the first six games for the Steelbacks, who have already recruited South African Rory Kleinveldt as their overseas for all formats of the game this summer.
