Jermaine Dupri spoke with the Associated Press about The Marvin Gaye’s family recent court victory over “Blurred Lines.” He stated:

“Younger producers like myself and Pharrell, we make records that are influenced by other records that are out there,” Dupri said in an interview Thursday. “That’s how hip-hop has always been created – it has some kind of element of something (from) the past. Or sometimes we just take the entire sample and we give the artist the credit for that sample.””We’ve all been in a position where it could go like this or we can give the producer the credit,” he added.

JD also went on to say Ciara’s “I Bet” is a rip-off of Usher’s “U Got It Bad.” He will be seeking credit. Do you find the songs to be very similar? Check below to hear both.

New bars from Styles P.

I finally got to see Logic perform live at his sold out “Under Pressure” NYC tour stop last night. The kid puts on a great show and has bars for days. he does a freestyle for every tour stop, check out his NYC freestyle above. One of the highlights of the night was Logic bringing a fan on stage to perform “5 AM.” I look forward to hearing more from Logic and see more shows in the future.
