Israeli helicopters have carried out at least three helicopter raids against targets in the Gaza Strip, hours after Palestinian rocket fire killed a woman inside Israel.

Witnesses say the Israeli helicopters fired missiles early Friday at targets including in Gaza City and Khan Younis. There are no immediate reports of casualties.

Earlier, Israeli military officials say four makeshift rockets hit an Israeli village near Gaza on Thursday, killing a woman. The attack came hours after Israeli soldiers shot and killed a wanted Palestinian militant in the northern West Bank.

The militant al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said the Gaza rocket fire was retaliation for the Israeli killing.

The latest violence comes two days after an Islamic Jihad suicide bomber killed himself and five Israelis Tuesday in the Israeli city of Netanya.
