Amid reports of Hideo Kojima's strained relationship with Konami, the Kojima Productions logo has been removed from the Silent Hills/P.T. website, leading to questions about the state of the game and the involvement of Kojima himself. Originally, the Kojima Productions logo was featured on the bottom-left corner of the page. However, it's no longer there, with only the Fox Engine logo remaining (see below).
We reached out to Konami to ask about this change and what it might mean for the game, which Kojima is working on with Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro and The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus.
When asked for a status update for Silent Hills, including what studio might be working on it and whether or not Kojima and del Toro are still attached to the project, this is what we heard back:
"Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore. At this time, there are no additional updates to share."
Just because Konami isn't ready to share more details about Silent Hills doesn't necessarily mean the project is in trouble. However, with a source telling GameSpot that Kojima will leave Konami after development on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain wraps up later this year, it does bring up questions about the game's fate.
We'll continue to monitor this story as it unfolds.
Previously, Konami removed the Kojima Productions logo from official artwork for The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes. The company also struck a line that read "A Hideo Kojima Game" from marketing materials for both titles. The developer's Twitter account has also since been effectively shut down.
Silent Hills was originally revealed at Gamescom 2014 as horror game P.T. ("playable teaser"), which was launched as a free PlayStation 4 demo on the PlayStation Store with almost no explanation as to what it was. Kojima later said that he wanted to make Silent Hills so scary that it will "make you sh*t your pants." He even joked at the time that the limited edition for Silent Hills would come with a fresh pair of pants.

That sucks a thousand asses!!!
Man I really hope this game does come out, it was one of the coolest demos evar
What's that flushing sound?Â? Oh right, this project going down the drain.
Silent hills been cancelled thanks a lot konami i hope kojuma sue your ass.
I hope kojima will now make a new or spiritual sequel to snatcher and policenauts
i know why don't konami release the game instead of throwing tantrums, i dont give a toss whos made it or whose name is on it.
I played MGS 4 and I thought it sucked. My opinion though.Â?
@cboye18 ground zero was one of the worst games I played last year… in my opinion though...
@Ahiru-SanÂ?@cboye18 Yeah, the rehashes of CoD and Battlefield were so much better. Â?They had bro-fives, ruffies, and excessive fist-pounding. Â?It covered all my fad-gaming needs.
@gaealiegeÂ?@Ahiru-SanÂ?@cboye18 Don't be a loser. Â?Just because someone doesn't agree with you about a game, it doesn't mean your trite stereotypes are even remotely accurate. Â?"Bro" is now just code for "I don't have anything intelligent to say, so I am tossing out a generic insult."
I was only interested in this thinking it was a Kojima game, now I don't care.
Wow, Konami is really acting like a petulant child right now. Â?WAAAAAAA! Kojima won't play with me anymore! WAAAAAAA! Â?So do they think that removing Kojima's name from everything is going to get everyone to give Konami credit for all of Kojima's work? Â?I don't know. Â?What I do know though, is the way Konami is acting right now, is making them look far worse PR wise than anything Kojima is doing.
Still...A Hideo Kojima game.

so if the Fox Engine sign is still there, doesn't it imply that Kojima is still on-board because that engine is made by KojiPro and if Kojima were to leave,he wouldn't have let Konami use his engine.
@callsignalpha The Fox Engine was created by KP under Konami's dime. Still Konami's property for sure.Â?
The good news would be that Silent Hills won't be 100+ hours of cutscenes, 20+ of gameplay.
The bad news is...um...I got nothing.
@_plaguelight_ A horror game with a ton of creepy CGI cutscenes sounds good to me
@_plaguelight_ It's funny you took that dig at Kojima when P.T. was hours worth of gameplay and less than a minute of cutscene and was co-written and directed by him. Anyways, it's not that simple man. Rumor has it the entire studio is in jeopardy because it's not only Kojima but his entire executive staff that are set to depart after TPP. Granted it was a rumor but those are the people that made P.T. and the Fox engine it was built on. To think Konami (a separate entity) can just pick up where KP left off Â?seamlessly is optimism at best.
@_plaguelight_ Now it's a first person shooter. Ya happy
@_plaguelight_ The bad news is it'll be like Silent Hill Homecoming?
Maybe Kojima will start his actualÂ?own development studio?
Kojima is an exiled ronin.
WOOHOO GO KONAMI!!! You can't kick him out fast enough :D
@nini200 Yeah beacuse the Konami made games from the last 5 years were just awesome... In all seriousness, I couldn't name one Konami Game (Not KP) I enjoyed in a very long time. Even worse a Silent Hill.Â?
Well since I haven't played a Silent Hill game in about 10 plus years I guess I can wait longer? If anything Hideo oddballness might have actually added something to this tired series. Ah well. Konami is quickly lookin to become the next Crapcom.
Quondam used to be one of my favorite companies from the East. but the last few years, their decision making has become incredibly dumb. Way to piss off one of the most talented developers/producers in the industry today (and your only ace up your sleeve ) Konami. That company is going nowhere fast......
These changes make sense. Konami, as a brand, has lost a lot of power and positioning. Maybe it was Konami's fault, who knows, but the fact is that Konami looks now more like "Kojima Corp". So, it's understandable that the heads of the company want to focus on the brand again and apply new strategies from there. I'm pretty sure Kojima won't abandon Silent Hills.
@StonerDemon They should have renamed themselves Kojima Corp. because what Kojima puts out are the only games that don't suck at Konami. Been that way for a while I'm afraid.
Sadface
Silent hills is just another myth now... f#cking sh1t !
it is april fools after all. :\ people getting upset for Â?nothing.
@rikku45 This has been going on long before April 1st. This isn't even a good gag to begin with.Â?
@rikku45 You are implying that this whole Kojima thing that has been going on for weeks has been an elaborate april fools?
Seriously?
well this is to be expected after the the phantom pain drama
So what if Kojima is off the project? Â?Just because it's a Kojima game, doesn't ensure it's going to be great. Â?Remember, this is the same guy that gave us MGS2. Â?
@MistwalkerZÂ?@InYourMoufÂ?@mike11091 no your opinion of the game is different fromÂ?mike11091. Its only memorable, in my opinion, because of the hype from the 1st playstation edition of mgs and how nothing like it had been seen before, like the playstation itself. its not great, some consider it a sub standard game, Having played it its enjoyable enough, but not legendary, in my opinion. :)
@InYourMoufÂ?@mike11091 Legendarily great, in fact.
Your argument is invalid.Â?
@InYourMoufÂ?@mike11091 Not that great.
@mike11091 Which was great.
Oh, thank you Lord... Now maybe the game will actually be good since it won't be filled with pretentious, wannabe avant-garde nonsense and have all scares replaced with cheap attempts at being shocking or edgy.
@InYourMoufÂ?@Blk_Mage_Ctype I take it you missed the fetus then, huh? Oh, and the suffering chimp trapped inside of a refrigerator? Because those struck me as Kojima's distinctive edgelord "There's a bomb in my womb!" style.
@aeluron1989 No, I'd prefer something that's more genuinely scary like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Outlast, or Alien: Isolation.
Also, there's nothing subtle about Kojima.
@Blk_Mage_CtypeÂ?@aeluron1989 Surprised you found Alien Isolation scary tbh. I trust Kojima to deliver with Silent Hills myself, but if its anything like Alien Isolation then it would be forgettable.Â?
@Blk_Mage_CtypeÂ?@aeluron1989 Classic case of internet hipsterism. Fact of the matter is the crimes that were committed with the Outlast lackluster ending was 10x worse than anything Kojima did in P.T. Also the elephant in the room with Outlast. Homeboy is just going to keep his camera up and be beat to death because of... Well, I dunno, reasons. Kojima being well known name that has become cool to hate, people are just going to look for reason to take digs at him. I get it indy is cool bro. Outlast was a one note act with no depth, not to mention a bad cliche, and you simply progressed with no real meaning besides the fact that you have to escape simply because the protagonist was too much of an ahole to turn around when the 1st guy tried to kill him. P.T. was phycological, you had to live in someone elses hell they're paying for murdering their family. There truly was no hope, just a puzzle with too many pieces set there to throw you off, and you were sitting in the same room but it found a way to continue to scare you. Not many people can do that. Sure as sht no the numb nuts that made Outlast. So check yourself man, you already don't like Kojima we get it. You're going to find a way to hate everything he does. Meanwhile everything he creates is critically acclaimed and is rubbing shoulders with A list Hollywood actors and directors.
@Blk_Mage_Ctype None of which was featured in PT. Â?
@Blk_Mage_CtypeÂ?@InYourMouf Would you rather have a bunch of jump scares instead? I prefer subtle scary environments.
That is soooo lame...
Man this sucks, I guess all we can hope for is that much of the story was already planned out by Kojima and Del Toro. Â?If that wasn't in place, then this game will struggle.
I will not buy this game without Kojima's involvement.
That's what happens when you think you're bigger than your employer. Â?Kojima is talented at what he does, but just like Vince Zampella, Cliffy B, Peter Molyneux amongst others, these programmers start thinking they're untouchable rockstars. Â?I'm sure he'll thrive elsewhere, and as for Konami... we'll see.
@meharuÂ?@parabol69Â? Yeah sadly without Hideo Konami is just like their rival/buddy Crapcom. Old wonderful licenses with a $%^&* load of %^&*( games.
@Kinguard73Â?@meharuÂ?@parabol69 Worse actually.Â? Crapcom is still making games for a few of their IPs.Â? Konami has run every IP they own into the gutter except Metal Gear.
@parabol69 He doesn't think that he is bigger than his employer, he is actually bigger than his employer. It is a fact.
