As a premier management school today, XISS caters to the human resource requirements of the industries, information technology sector and non-governmental organizations. Moreover, the institute has grown as an important resource centre for development sector in this region.

At XISS, the curricula of various academic programmes are revised and updated constantly so as to meet the emerging needs of the industries and development sector. No wonder, the institute has turned into a favourite hunting ground for both the corporate and development sectors to meet their manpower requirements. Our alumni have also lived up to the expectations of their employers. That is why they participate in the Campus Recruitment Programmes year after year quite religiously. Our faculty, staff and students do their best to be efficient professionals in sync with the ground realities of our society and respond to the issues of social justice while taking the side of those who are at the receiving end. XISS is one of the oldest B-Schools that started preparing HR and IR professionals to address the problems pertaining to the people dimension of the industry.

Later, a Post Graduate Diploma course in Rural Development was launched at this premier institute to fulfill the growing demand of professionals required to take up the formidable task of working for the development needs of rural India. The rural development professionals graduating from XISS are respected for their sense of commitment and dedication to the cause of the downtrodden and the marginalized.

Research and consultancy services offered by the institute, both, to the industry and the development sector have brought kudos to the untiring efforts of the faculty and the project officers of the institute. Besides, we have made a significant contribution towards dissemination of knowledge through our publishing programme. In the last five years, our quarterly journal –Jharkhand Journal of Development and Management Studies has emerged as an important platform for the academia, professionals and social activists. The journal has got due appreciation from the international community as well. The Department of Research & Publications has also published a few books and many more are lined up for release in future.

While forging new paradigms in management and Rural Development education, we are preparing new age professionals to cope up with the opportunities and threats posed by the new economy.
