Want to know the origin of the Arkham Knight, the villain of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight video game? Well, DC Comics has you covered. A new six-issue comic book mini-series by writer Pete Tomasi and artist Alisson Borges called Batman: Arkham Knight - Genesis, out July 29, will explore the villain's mysterious past.

Tomasi's name might sound familiar, as he is also the writer of the Batman: Arkham Knight comic that bridges the gap between Arkham City and Arkham Knight, not to mention the current writer of the Batman and Robin comic series at DC.

Batman: Arkham Knight #1 Review

Thus far, precious little information about the Arkham Knight has been revealed by game-maker Rocksteady. All we know is that he's a villain wearing a militaristic, Batman-inspired outfit with an Arkham symbol on his chest, he has a mysterious connection to Batman and wants him dead, and he's teaming up with Scarecrow to carry out his plan.

The video game is due out on June 2, but seeing how it has been delayed several times already, that date could change again. If the game does hit on June 2, then we would get this origin comic almost two months later. That begs the question, will this comic reveal new information about his origin, or will it retell what was revealed in the game? We'll find out soon enough.

Check out the full solicitation information for the comic.
