POST publishes 20-30 POSTnotes (short briefing notes) each year, along with occasional longer reports and short POSTboxes. They focus on current science and technology issues and aim to anticipate policy implications for parliamentarians

POST's work falls into five main areas. Projects being carried out by POST staff and fellows are listed in this section, as well as projects that have been approved by the Board but not yet begun.

With funding from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, POST ran a programme to help African parliaments strengthen their capacity in science and technology.

POST runs several fellowship schemes with Research Councils, learned societies and charities, through which PhD students are sponsored to spend three months working at POST
