Hi-
Sorry if something like this has been posted before, but I suck at internet searches...
I recently bought some used 265s from a roller girl. I previously skated on R3s, so the shorter plate took some getting used to but I think I'm used to it now. My main concern is that the ankle feels too loose. When I tighten the laces at the top (even if I only tighten the top holes) it hurts a lot or my feet go numb. I can't seem to find a happy medium in terms of lace tightening... the ankles just feel too loose and I'm not as confident in my crossovers. I have no problems with my toes (I think a 1/2 size smaller boot would be too small). Any suggestions? Should I just wear extra socks with the toes cut off? Can shoe repair places do anything about it?
Thanks guys,
Clair

Try double-lacing them like this (http://www.flickr.com/photos/russell_reno/3024871302/).

265 are known to fit loosely at the ankle. The new 126 my suit your needs better. ---Why was the plate shorter, for the same size boot??

On R3s the plate goes all the way from the heel to toe. On the 265s the plate ends 3/4 '' or so before the toe. Also where is this 126? http://www.riedellroller.com/boots/boots.html

I guess I should've done more research before I got the 265s, but they were such a good deal! Oh well. Thanks anyway.

My 265 are loose in the heel too. Here is what I did. Squeeze the heal counter inward, buy a set of David or thick EZ ankle booties and pick up some waxed laces. Did wonders.

The "126" the "965" along with the "165" are new, and not on the list you link. The "126" was designed for folks with narrow heels. I have had good luck with it.
