Irish film censor Sheamus Smith (left) with broadcaster and academic Brian Farrell, at the launch of RTÉ Television's '30 Years A-Glowing' in Dublin's Gresham Hotel in December 1991. '30 Years A-Glowing' was a day-long selection of programmes broadcast on New Year's Day 1992 to mark the 30th anniversary of RTÉ Television. Telefís Éireann, as it was then known, was launched in the Gresham Hotel on New Year's Eve 1961. A report on this launch was published in the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' in January 1992; stills from this shoot accompanied that article. '30 Years A-Glowing' was previewed in the RTÉ Guide on 20 December 1991. *Please note this image is slightly out of focus*. |
