Alfred Morris hasn’t gotten a haircut in a while. He also hasn’t shaved, and some have speculated that he’s growing a training camp beard.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a camp thing,” Morris said, when I asked about his new look. “I think I’m going to keep my hair this length, though. No more low cuts for me. But right now, I just haven’t been able to get to a barber shop because of camp.”

Little did Morris know that a barber has been visiting players in the team hotel, giving them shape-ups and trims.

Richmond native Marcus Williams says he’s been cutting hair since he was 13 years old, but it was only in the last four years that he got serious about being a barber. In June, knowing that the Redskins would soon be coming to his city, Williams began reaching out to Redskins players on Twitter and Instagram, offering his services.

“A few of them responded, and then a few more,” he explained. “Before they got here, they called me and asked if I’d come to the hotel.”

Donte Stallworth, Jordan Pugh and David Amerson got cleaned up on Tuesday. RGIII didn’t need a cut, but he stopped by to say hi and took a picture with the man in charge of making his teammates look sharp.  On Wednesday, Williams had plans to return to the hotel after player meetings for a few more appointments.

“I’m excited,” Williams said. “I know I’m good at what I do, and I knew they’d be pleased.”

Thankfully, Williams also said he’d be willing to fit in Morris for an emergency appointment any time.
