Bae Yong-joon's Book to Be Filmed for Asia-Wide Distribution

Actor Bae Yong-joon's book "A Journey in Search of Korea's Beauty" will be made into a documentary. A steady seller both here and in Japan, it has now been published in China and Taiwan as well.

The Korea Tourism Organization together with the Seoul, Gyeonggi, North Gyeongsang and South Jeolla local governments and Bae's management agency KeyEast will be involved in the making of the eight-part film. The makers hope it will be aired throughout Asia.

Based on Bae's book, it will feature cooking, traditional dress, craft and historic sites. The KTO expressed hopes that the documentary will help further attract foreign tourists including 10,000 Japanese by next year.

Since it was published simultaneously in Korea and Japan in September last year, the book has sold 160,000 copies.
