I had the honor of being a featured guest on internet radio’s About Dat Sports Life. Afterwards I talked with Anthony Pennant and Charles Weatherspoon better known as Ace and Dees along with Executive Producer Ashi Irie about what makes their sports commentary stand out.

What makes your sports talk show different from any of the other sports based talk shows out here?

Ace: When we first started this very early on that’s the first thing we asked ourselves. It’s more about our personalities involved. Our format is more conversation like. We are not just reporting news, We want the dialogue between us and our listeners. This is more like a conversation between us and our audience so at the end of the day it’s just a couple guys just talking more like barber shop talk. We are interested about what is on our audience’s mind.

Dees: It’s definitely our personalities, what’s different is that we invoke a lot of us into the show. We will start to digress into sneakers and even the turkey wings I’m having for dinner. ( laughs)

That’s leads into what I was going to ask next. The show is called About Dat Sports Life, can you elaborate on that? Your site says you are about life, is that summing up everything, news, sports, fashion?

Ace: One of our slogans is about Sports, Life, and Style. For example we talked about the Donald Sterling incident and about domestic violence in the NFL, those are very much life topics not necessarily just about sports but how these situations relates to all of us everyday. We also talk about fashion, I’m a “sneaker head”, my friend here will wear anything that has Cleveland on it, that’s his style. It’s just sports, how it relates to our lives, and how it relates to everyone’s style. You wouldn’t have sneakers without sports.

Dees: I agree. Depending how I’m feeling I’ll talk about how sports connects to life, how its manifested out there.

Is this the first time for both of you doing anything like this, do you have any broadcasting background?

Ace: I actually have a degree/ background in Mass Communications. I’ve worked on radio shows as an intern before but this is the first project of mine.

Dees: This is the first radio experience for me, but this is not new. We actually were taping at a bowling alley for a while. We didn’t just jump in, it was about a year of that.

So how did you guys meet? Were you always friends?

Ace: Well, we have to give that credit to out executive producer, Ashe Irie, the brains of the operation. We came together for the soul purpose of the show, but after that it was organic. It was almost instantaneously that we knew what this could be, where this could go. We met, talked about sports and was like – Okay, now lets get serious.

Ashe: It grew out of casual conversation, I would see them constantly go back and forth on Twitter. I said to myself – They need to get paid for this! ( laughs). They both have a love of sports and everyone else is doing it but this feels real not to say that we don’t love the other commentary but you can hear it just happen naturally – it’s definitely authentic. I felt like I needed to bring them together and they were both willing to do it.

How much preparation actually goes into one show?

Ace: I had to realize that this is not only going to take direct prep, but I had to almost turn into a sponge. If I’m near a television or radio, sports is definitely on. This is a lifestyle.

Dees: I live this. When I wake up I check my stocks, investments then I check my sports. If I missed something or fell asleep, I have to catch up on all of the stats everyday. Even on games I missed I know who was batting what with baseball and with basketball who scored what, even on games I missed.

Where to you see this growing into and becoming?

Ace: We know where we want to end up, everything we are doing now is to end up there. So right now we want the media, the blogs, the websites, the radio shows, we want T.V.!

Dees: Our vision for the show is the same, even though the process to get there can be frustrating sometimes, I am enjoying the process. This is definitely something I’m passionate about. It’s not work, I can do this forever.

If you are About Dat Life check Ace and Dees out every other Thursday night on Hamiltonradio.net . The next show airs November 13th at 7 P.M. Eastern. Also follow them on twitter @AboutDatSportsLife Instagram @abtdatsprtslife

Joseph Randle will be playing with the Dallas Cowboys this weekend despite shoplifting scandle. “It was hard coming back into the locker room, looking at people who care about me in the eyes knowing that I did something stupid.” The NFL did impose a fine for the Class-B misdemeanor to the running back. Signed in 2013 to a $2.35 million dollar contract one has to wonder, why shoplift? It’s obvious that he could afford the Gucci Guilty Black cologne, so it had to be some childish thrill right? He must be living with the same little voice as Winona Ryder, Lindsay Lohan and other stars who commit the same petty crime without reason. This is definitely a disappointment to the team and fans, but players have overcome worse headlines.

Nonetheless, I beg your pardon, because I do not give credence to your entire suggestion, all be it refreshing none the less. It would seem to me that your remarks are generally not entirely rationalized and in actuality you are your self not completely convinced of the argument. 428. It’s fairly well documented that “ali” takes the piss big time and is already falling foul of Mike Marcondes over at CMIVfx. He didn’t even have the intelligence to change the basic settings or even the names of some of the textures/lights/models in some of his early “tutorials”. On top of all that he was claiming sponsorship from the likes of Dpit Effex – coincidentally, the day he showed of his new “sponsored” Dpit work was the day after it appeared cracked online. An asshole.

(not to mention the fact that most of the nobles that supported him in the OTL have been executed in this one, so I assume a lot his new supporters will be either be Levelers or hopefully quite hilariously the scots and the irish) Sorry for the rather rambling questions.

Damn! You “stole” my post. Ok…not really. I listened to a very moving and difficult show on Talk of the Nation last week and it spurred me to write a post about just this subject. [It’s still a draft]Anyway, here’s the link to the show. I think you’ll find the comments interesting. .This was my comment on their blog:

  455. Wait a second… wait, wait, wait…. Doesn't Roger Ebert have one of those "web-log" things of his own on the ARPANET? And I heard he sometimes uses that "The Twitter" that all those crazy computer kids these days use to "Face-Space" on! Why, I wouldn't be surprised if Roger Ebert had dozens of people dialing up his "bulletin board" with their telephone modem machines right now!Hm, yeah, the cancellation of an old TV show means the end of people caring about intelligent and informed opinions, got it. Oh, and do you think anyone's going to tell Kurtz that Rotten Tomatoes aggregates professional reviews as part of their fresh/rotten ratings?

  456. If you wrote an article about life we’d all reach enlightenment.

  457. hello, purchased the texturekit, and, as others comments above, found that pretty much all the non-procedural textures wont tile properly (even with the “tile” function)… if i could post images here, you would have seen examples. pretty disappointing!!nick/chris, will this issue be fixed soon (now)? if not , sorry to say, i will demand a full refund.on the other hand, i want to give my appreciation to what u guys are doing for the community.peace/Victor

There would probably be 2 entrants compared to 200. This is a lighting and texturing challenge. I don’t see modelling in the title. Is it that hard to grasp? Perhaps there will be a modelling challenge posted soon.As an artist I would much rather focus my work into lighting for several reasons. Unfortunately, due to the lack of support/response of the developer and also due to the manner in which the css/functions have been coded, even simple manipulation of the theme was simply too obfuscating / time consuming. As a result, and with much regret, I’ve abandoned this theme, despite the truly good art/layout.

I love the Brit reserve and how calm he sounds when trying to exercise control-my boyfriend is a Brit and I always marvel at how phlegmatic he acts even when he is dialed up to an 11. 476. I’ve learned a number of important things as a result of your post. I’d personally also like to express that there can be situation that you will have a loan and do not need a co-signer such as a Federal Student Support Loan. In case you are getting a borrowing arrangement through a classic creditor then you need to be prepared to have a co-signer ready to assist you. The lenders will base their decision using a few aspects but the greatest will be your credit ratings. There are some financial institutions that will also look at your work history and decide based on this but in many cases it will be based on on your scores.

  485. Elaine,Thank you for your comment.I’m sorry you took the use of humor in this post as a sign of being unprofessional. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  495. That’s a creative answer to a difficult question

  496. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

I also have some plugins installed but not currently activated, some of which I would like to an ignore list too. Is that possible? Thanks 007.Possible? Totally. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  523. Hey, you’re the goto expert. Thanks for hanging out here.

  524. Thanks for the quick tip… It may be old, but it’s still good! Quick question. If you apply a striped material like this one to, for example, a spline with Extrude Nurbs & a fillet cap, Cinema will repeat the stripes on the fillet (with UVW mapping, any other sort of mapping didn’t work for me).Was able to solve this by making the object editable — selecting the sides & applying the material only to that selection. But I was wondering if there isn’t a quicker way around this. Many thanks in advance & keep up the amazing work!Cheers, Wim

I actually offered mine a sip the other night (he seemed intent to find out what I was drinking), but turned his nose up in the air and looked away at first sniff. Although, I wasn’t drinking BF milk – he might have gone for that instead!

Bon vent, Jean-Marie

  538. Is that really all there is to it because that’d be flabbergasting.

  539. You have the monopoly on useful information-aren’t monopolies illegal? 😉

  540. Thanks for every one of your efforts on this blog. My niece enjoys making time for investigations and it’s simple to grasp why. I hear all about the compelling way you offer efficient strategies via the website and foster participation from other people on the issue and our girl has always been being taught so much. Take advantage of the rest of the year. You have been conducting a fabulous job.

  541. I frantically called SquareTrade. My call was taken care of quickly and professionally. I sent the laptop in and in 2 days was greeted with a warranty payment equal to the face amount minus the $250 previous repair charge. This allowed me to replace my daughter’s computer quickly (and with less of a wallet impact) and not have an issue with her school work.Worked exactly as advertised by SquareTrade and I am very happy with their service. This experience will provide additional peace of mind to me should I ever need to make another claim (which I hope I do not) on any of the other items I have warranted with them.

I like her best when she’s singing soul or classics. Her Summertime rendition is still the best I’ve ever seen from any Idol competitor. So, let me ask you, why the hell are you watching this show anyway? I stopped watching a few years ago because it really began to suck. You might want to try it. You don’t seem to enjoy it very much and I don’t want you should hurt yourself.

  555. Mighty useful. Make no mistake, I appreciate it.

  556. Once she gets the hang of feeidng herself, she’ll cram food in, and that could become a choking risk. So give her a little bit at a time. Colum doesn’t use a plate or other kind of dish (he’d just throw it) – we just put the food directly on his tray.

If this were a case where republicans were needlessly holding up an appointment I’d say fire away. But, I find it a little far-fetched that they planned this.

Upon the conclusion of the conversation, I return it to my right front pants pocket. That is the function for which it was intended. It serves this purpose adequately.

I also like that I don’t have to feel like I’m handling glass when I use it. I owned an ipod touch, and I was almost afraid to handle it because it felt so delicate. This product actually feels light and durable. Also, it makes for a great flash drive, as well as having excellent reception in the FM tuner.. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a good mp3 player at a great price.

Everything worked out of the box except wireless (hooked up a wire and installed the broadcom driver which fixed that) even the touch screen (this is an hp tablet laptop) and the onboard SD card reader! So far so good. The 64-bit warning I think probably comes from them developing their mint additions for a 32 bit platform and recompiling with fingers crossed for the 64 bit version. One should look for the maker’s documentation for one’s PC to be sure what type of ram is needed.

Well, maybe not Forest/Park Rangers. My short experience working for a government entity convinced me that those who work for the government also do not like working for the government.

  831. Got it! Thanks a lot again for helping me out!

  833. I have an ide for a weakness in Apollo. You place your Ghost Rider drones between you and the Appollo capable vessels, and when the missiles pass the drones, have the drones begin sending grav pulses back to the launching ships. The ships MAY not be able to distinguish the Appollo system signal from the mess your drones are making. This is complicated by the fact that Apollo missiles can be controlled by any ship that can “see” them.

  834. This is for Elizabeth,I to had to go medical to get pregnant. IVF with ISCI to be exact. The mood swings and rages were a perfect warm-up for the absolute insanity of having twins at 40. I love them dearly, they are now 3. They make me laugh every day. If you want to chat about the fun of medical offline, you can email me. But it was a hormone preview of mommy coping/not-coping with infancy

  835. I think there’s good reason to have both blue water ironclads and riverine ironclads, in terms of casualty, if they didn’t have blue water ironclads, they’ll be force to use the war galleons, and thus take casualty when fighting the God navy ships when next they decide to launch another sea mission, having the new ships would probably prevent any lost of ships in battle given their superiority. While having the riverine ironclads would help logistic in the mainland and blocade Gof4 armies’ supply, it’ll also be able to lay siege to fortresses and cities. Considering most cities are built near rivers, the river ironclads are mobile forts without having to worry about infantry support.

  836. to get over it, well, they wouldn’t be the brightest bunch. Generally the sort of people whose vocabulary consists mainly of swear words rather than using them to enhance certain points. It is quite gimmicky I have to say. Apparently, it’s meant to be quite good, I have yet to go. Fortunately, it’s almost guaranteed to be misogynist-free because it’s a club that’s huge on the LGBT scene. Of course people in the LGBT community can be misogynistic too, but from my experience, it’s far less likely. It seemed perfectly coherent to me. Unlike mine which is just a combination of word-vomiting and rambling thoughts.

  837. You really saved my skin with this information. Thanks!

  838. You’re on top of the game. Thanks for sharing.

  839. Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. However think of if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this website could definitely be one of the most beneficial in its niche. Good blog!

  843. I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. 854. Does anyone know if photocopying an article out of a magzine would be considered copyright infringement? Thanks . Okay, now that I see some of the answers I’m going to add some details. What if I bought the magazine myself, made the copies to keep for myself, but then gave the magazine to a friend (not for money)? Thanks..

  856. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Cheers

  859. I know others were not thrilled to see your site listed side by side with the others, but I have to thank the NY Times for introducing me to your site. Love the metrics, especially the live, continuously updating sleep log, and then now and then photos. My problem is with the article’s assertion that parent-bloggers are crashing towards a self-fulfilling letdown: “And of course the more parents blog, the less likely they are to get the attention and validation they seem to crave.” For me, and I bet for a lot of other bloggers, flexing our fingers into flowing sentences, and seeing the fruits of our non-paying labor up there in all its monitor-glowing glory is reward enough.

  860. That’s really thinking out of the box. Thanks!

I have mastered some considerations through your site post. One other subject I would like to say is that there are several games out there designed particularly for toddler age small children. They contain pattern identification, colors, wildlife, and styles. These often focus on familiarization instead of memorization. This will keep children occupied without sensing like they are learning. Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  863. An answer from an expert! Thanks for contributing.

  864. What a great resource this text is.

  865. I wanted to spend a minute to thank you for this.

  866. Chez, I've only been reading your stuff off and on for about a couple years, but you're churning out some of the best writing and social commentary in the country right now/lately. Original, relevant, at once both youthful and mature, and I'm quite certain– unrivaled. Did you sign some sort of deal with a stranger at the Crossroads? Just wanted to stop in and pay my respects to the death of whatever it was that prevented me from saying it sooner. That is all.

Oh and giving tons of money to other countries militias or military regimes, some of whom end up becoming terrorist could also be cause for us to say “our bad”. We can stop saying sorry when we stop medaling in other countries affairs to the point of causing deaths and financial ruin. End the Wars!! 899.

  900. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  901. I've only read Harry Potter, and no Twilight (although I have seen the film), but I can say my initial interest in Harry Potter probably came from beginning the first book in sixth grade. Even though I was well into college by the time the last one came out, and probably outside of the target age range, I'd basically grown up with the characters.Maybe I personally would have adapted better to Twilight if I'd started reading as a pre-teen; but as it is, it just rubs me the wrong way.

My blog site is in the exact same area of interest as yours and my users would truly benefit from a lot of the information you present here. Please let me know if this alright with you. Thanks!
