LUKE Jacobz has apologised for being caught drink driving.
The X Factor host and former Home and Away actor, who did not appear, was represented by a lawyer in a Sydney court this morning.
“I couldn’t be more regretful and apologetic,” the TV star said in a statement.
“My decision to drive my car the morning after a late dinner with friends is a wake-up call for me that the effects of alcohol stay in our bodies longer than we realise.”
Jacobz allegedly returned a low-range blood-alcohol reading of .116 when police pulled him over and breath tested the actor on Anzac Parade at Moore Park at 11.20am on May 31.
“I thought I would be OK to drive but I couldn’t have been more wrong,” he said in the statement.
“I made a bad decision and I apologise to the court and the police for taking up their time on this matter. “

The incident doesn’t bode well for the presenter with X Factor targeted at families.
“I’m 100 per cent behind the .05 campaigns and I’m astounded to find myself in this position,” he said.
Jacobz will return to court on July 15.
