1 Arrested in CR Bank Robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- One person has been arrested and charged in connection to a bank robbery in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday.

It happened at the Community Savings Bank, 3414 Mount Vernon Road SE at 2:32 PM, according to a release from the city.

At 2:37 PM, officers located a vehicle in the area of East Post Road and Lakeside Drive SE believed to be involved in the bank robbery. The suspect vehicle then allegedly led officers on a vehicle chase, and officers apprehended the suspect in the area of the Cedar Rapids Police Department Shooting Range located on Old River Road SW at 2:48 PM.

The suspect is identified as Christopher L. Feeney, 42, of Cedar Rapids.  Feeney was charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, Theft 2nd Degree and numerous traffic violations, and transported to the Linn County Jail.

No weapons were used and nobody was injured during the robbery, pursuit or arrest.
