Fans of Kick-Ass might be getting new films based on the characters of the comic book adaptation of superheroes, Hit Girl and Big Daddy.

According to an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Movies, Kick-ass director Matthew Vaughn teased that a prequel about Hit Girl may be in development.

"We're working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy," he said, hinting that he might reboot the franchise as he said that he is not happily done with it.

"If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn't like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3. I think we've got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with Kick-Ass," he explained.

However, series co-creator Mark Millar suggested in a separate interview that this might not be the case.

"There's really nothing happening here in any official way. Matthew is talking about an idea of what we had for Hit-Girl but it's just been a few informal chats and we haven't discussed Kick-Ass 3 at all. We're getting Superior together at the moment and Matthew is putting some Kingsman sequel ideas together but Hit Girl and Kick-Ass are not on our radar I'm afraid," he said.

Another report indicated that Chloe Grace Moretz, who portrayed Hit-Girl, might be done playing the character. The actress said that as one the most pirated films in 2014, the movie did not do well in the box office and distributors need prove that they can make money if they do another movie in the series. Another original actor, Aaron Taylor Johnson might also be focused more on doing big movies such as "Godzilla" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Science Fiction noted.

The first movie released in 2010 made $96.1 million worldwide with the budget of $30 million, while the sequel, "Kick-Ass 2" which hit the theaters on 2013, only grossed $60.7 million with a budget of $28 million.
