Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal have parted company by mutual consent with coach Domingos Paciencia after they suffered their 11th defeat of the season at the weekend.

The 46-year-old -- who is the third top tier Portuguese club coach to lose his job this season -- has been in the post since May but with the club just two points above the drop zone the board felt it was time to make a change.

"We came to a mutual agreement to terminate the contract," the club said in a statement. "It is to be regretted that the team's performance on the pitch did not reflect the work put in on the training ground."

Paciencia -- a former Porto and Portugal striker -- has failed to enjoy the same success as he did when he guided another Portuguese side Sporting Braga to a surprise appearance at the 2011 UEFA Europa League final.

He has been sacked by Sporting Lisbon (February 2012), Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna (February 2013), and Turkish side Kayserispor in March last year.
